there's nothing stock about NASCAR anywayIf I were dictator, NASCAR teams would have to run the same basic configuration on the track that they sell to the customers.
Want to race a V-8, RWD, manual trans, two "door" Fusion or Camry? Then you gotta have one on the showroom floor for me to buy.
All you wanna sell me is a V-6 hybrid with FWD and auto tranny? Then go race that at 'Dega.

You have a point. They have deep math and science skills.
Usually I think of biologist, chemist, physicist, etc. as scientists.

The same thing happened to the America Cup and I stopped watching that. Back when you had teams innovating trying to come up with fastest yacht under the 12 meter rules. I watched every race I could. When in 1992 the America Cup when with what is basically a one design class where all the boats are pretty much the same. Boring.
