The friendly soccer game between Germany and the Netherlands was canceled at short notice after a suspicious object was found at the stadium on Tuesday.
Policeman Joerg Hoffmeister told The Associated Press that everyone inside had to be evacuated after the as-yet unidentified object was found.
Announcements at the stadium in northern Germany advised people to go home in a calm manner, and that there was no danger to fear. Most fans were still waiting outside when the order to evacuate came about an hour and a half before kickoff.

Whoa. They found a suspicious package in the stadium (reportedly a suitcase), AND a truck bomb disguised as an ambulance outside?
So, the plan was (likely) to blow up the small device inside the stadium, then a much larger blast outside the stadium to hit the people fleeing the scene (and the first responders arriving at the scene)? If that had succeeded, then....wow.
Good work by the German authorities.
They calmly left with “most fans seemingly accepting the decision with resignation.” Oh, geez, bummer, guess we have to accept this and go on about our day as if it’s nothing. Resignation? Resignation to terrorism is exactly what got us to this point.
If it is true that they found a truck bomb then it is something new just like the suicide bombers in Paris. Up to now the muzzies have used truck bombs only in places like Baghdad, Damascus, and Beirut but not in Europe. Europe is in for a very bloody winter and the US is next. Inviting muzzies into your house is like inviting rattlesnakes or drinking poison. Sooner or later, your guests will kill you.

The Germans are so traumatized by their experiment with the NAZISM that they are extremely slow to pull the trigger on the Muzlim invaders.

I do dream that enough Germans will rediscover their inner Teutonic Warrior to save their country, but it may be too late.

Losing around 10 million people in the two world wars didn’t help.
And the added specter of the holocaust just made matters worse.
I would think the former East Germans would be more proactive in keeping the country they just got back.
But being ruled by the Soviet Union for two generations might account for them being gun shy.
