I don’t recall Trump supporting any resettlement of refugees.
When Trump thought they were going to bring Christians here or those targeted by ISIS and in reasonable numbers, he did say he was for relocating ‘some’ here.
After it became clear the risk, he said no way.
Note there’s some myth of ‘vetting’ the refugees. Not possible. There are no records on those coming here. Our only ‘vetting’ is relying on papers supplied by Greece and they’ve admitted they give EVERYONE papers.
I am with you. The initial statement that I recall was for a humanitarian response, could have been support for a refugee camp, which in later responses it became.
