A mother-of-four was abused while she shopped in Tesco because she was wearing a niqab.
Rahela Chowdhury, 32, from Burnley, was in her local store with all four children when the man approached her and shouted 'why can't I see your face?'
She was left frozen to the spot and has been so scared she has hardly left the house since the incident on October 3.
Her youngest child, who is only four, also started crying uncontrollably.
Her abuser, John McDougall, 50, from Earby in Lancashire, has now been ordered to pay victim compensation and carry out 200 hours community service.
Recalling the terrifying ordeal, Mrs Chowdhury said: 'He started abusing me, asking me why I was wearing the full veil.

Very funny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
"Hag." "Sinking ass." "Her jihadi brood." Your word selection gives an insight into your mind, and it's regrettable.
“that is, at an individual who has done you no harm.”
Americans are starting to realize this IS the person who will harm you. We’re learning...
No. I’ve confronted idiots wearing Che T-shirts, and Nazi regalia many times.
Also pretty sad that being rude is a crime in England.
What I objected to is a rude public confrontation with a blameless individual --- one who has done you no harm. And I will stand by that.
BOO-EFFING-HOO!!
You can stand by that if you please; in an era of human bombs, this bomb factory is advertising it. She already made four, and they are already across our border.
Be safe!
My sympathy well done run dry for "poor muslims."
200 hours worth of harm?
For shouting a rude comment?
We have not heard his side of the story.
Yeah, I love guys like this, rude and cowardly. Why doesn’t he go confront some MEN, not a woman with 4 children in tow. I don’t support this hajib wearing, etc. but THAT isn’t the problem with Islam and the world today.
Why are you assuming the rude guy assumed the “woman” was really a woman at all?
Exactly; if she was a “moderate” Muslim the irate shopper would have had no idea (and had no cause for concern/complaint). This is just a case of “see something, say something”...
Where is the American feminist movement, why are they not condemning the hijab, the burqa?
**********************************************************************
............The forced marriages of little girls to old men, a raped female as the guilty party, the murder of females who won’t toe the line, the hideous practice of clitorectomy surgery, females as chattel. The list goes on and on and on and silence from femnazis.
Hands-down the funniest freaking post of the year! Is this your great work?
I can’t take credit for it; it’s been floating around at there for a while.
Since people who wear Che or Nazi regalia have a mind-set similar to yours, I'm sure the lot of you would consider it a rewarding day if you ran into each other on the street and tried to best each other with verbal intimidation. In a way, y'all deserve each other.
But let me make a distinction. People are justified in making ideological assumptions about somebody wearing Che or KKK or whatever, but not necessarily about a hijab-wearing woman. For all you know, she could be an entirely non-militant, apolitical, blameless mother who wants nothing more than to buy her yogurt and cucumbers in peace. Or for all you know, she could be a Kurd. Kurds as Sunni Muslims, yet they are about the only people who have effectively defended Christians and Yazidis in Syria.
I guess your notion would be to take the initiative to accost veiled ladies and scare their children, huh? Careful.
"Be polite, be professional, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet?"
That doesn't mean you have to act on that plan, but considering the events in Paris allegedly included a female gunner, it might be good practice to have one, just in case.
No need to be rude, really, just vigilant.
Notice how this event, which took place in the past, was suddenly brought out now? Every time there is an Islamic terrorist attack, the press and CAIR trot out these events to make them look like the victims.
I'm OK with that.
