I’m a faculty member at a university. There is a whole cottage industry of humanities folks arguing that a liberal arts degree is a great investment. In general their data is worthless. The reason is that many students pursue dual degrees and double majors. A philosophy major tacked onto a pre-med Microbiology major makes it onto their data sheet as if philosophy accounts for the income. Until you filter that stuff out, you pretty much can’t say anything. Might be a fine investment but not based on data I’ve seen.
