too little, too late
it just doesn’t matter any more, the damage to America is done
it just doesn’t matter any more, the damage to America is done
Too true. On a lighter note,
Every state has “plenary authority,” as SCOTUS once put it, to determine how its presidential Electors are (as the Constitution puts it, to “nominate[d]”. The whole federal government, from Congress to the POTUS to the SCOTUS, signed off on McCain-Feingold and other campaign finance reform legislation - notwithstanding its abridgment of the freedom of the press - to prevent domestic contributors from buying our politicians. Your state legislature should refuse access to the ballot for electors who are pledged to vote for anyone who has accepted gifts of any sort from any foreign government, no matter how they may have been laundered.
- Article 1 Section 9:
- No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
If purple and/or blue states with a significant number of electors passed such a law, Hillary Clinton couldn’t win the presidency and wouldn’t even be nominated.
