Like others I’m suspicious. The Turks are backing the jihadis in Syria, and while they deny it I believe they are backing ISIS too.

I believe they are going in to protect the jihadis and to push the Kurds back. I think they are more worried about the Kurds than they are ISIS. By far.

So lets just watch and see who’s right. ISIS or Kurds? Or Russians? My money is that Turkey and the Russians will divide Syria defacto, and the Kurds will be odd-man-out.

Yes and Syria has invited Russia to come fight ISIS and NOT Turkey.

Turkey will be going into Syria as an invader and not protector. That’s just propaganda Turkey is using to invade.

Putin needs to call Erdogan and explain what will happen if the Turks start shooting at the Russians. Cut this off before it starts.

Whatever it is, you can count on Erdogan the Islamic autocrat to give the Kurds the worst of it.

Yes and Syria has invited Russia to come fight ISIS and NOT Turkey.

And toss in to that mix Turkey is Sunni, Assad is an Alawite and Iran is a Shiite nation ,the Russians are Infidels and you have a more complicated situation. -Tom

Aren’t Alawites a sub-branch of Shia and that is among the reasons Iran is supporting Assad?

Aren’t Alawites a sub-branch of Shia and that is among the reasons Iran is supporting Assad?

Alawite beliefs are so heretical to Muslims I can't believe even the Shias would think of them as true Muslims.

The Alawites stand up against the Sunni Muslims who consider both the Alawites and Shias heretics.
That is something the Alawites and Shias share in common.

Infidel Russia supports Assad also

Shiite Iran supports Assad because Iran considers Sunni Saudi Arabia an enemy.

In the future look for Iran to agitate the Shias in Saudi Arabia to rebel against the Saudi Govt. -Tom
