Dunkin' Releases Festive 'Joy' Cups Amid Starbucks' Red Cup Controversy
Fox News ^ | 11/11/15

Take that, Starbucks.

Dunkin' Donuts unveiled its winter holiday cups with the word "Joy" in red script surrounded by green pine branches.

The coffee-and-donut chain claims the move wasn't intended as a jab at Starbucks, which received some blowback from Christians for dropping Christmas imagery from its holiday cups.

Dunkin' has used "Joy" in similarly themed cups in previous years.

On Monday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump even suggested boycotting Starbucks over the cups.

A Starbucks representative noted in response that the company has a Christmas coffee blend available in stores all over the world.

Some on Twitter are celebrating the new DD cups...

And there are those "progressive" types who say they dismiss the DD design as no big deal, it's just a cup that winds up in the trash, they say. Well if DD decided to put Confederate flags on their cups, these same phonies would be starting petitions on change.org to boycott Dunkin Donuts faster than Jeff Gordon on meth.

I like Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, and buy their whole-bean original blend for home. I also like flavored coffee, and order it whole bean from a supplier in Louisiana. I think the last time I had Starbucks was when I was in the UK and Paris back in 2006.

When it comes to coffee, it is Dunkin’s south of the border and Tim’s north of the border.

Yes they do! And when I want the really strong stuff, there's plenty of Cuban owned mom and pop bodegas, run by decent, unpretentious down-to-earth people around Tampa that have better coffee than Starschmucks at much more reasonable prices. Besides, given Starbucks "progressive" corporate model, you'd think they would want us to BUY LOCALLY.

Sissybucks home of Pajama boys everywhere is one of the leading corporate purveyors of liberal bullsh*t and a pusher of overpriced pretentious poser juice. Give me DD’s any day.

Starbucks is the most acidic and burnt tasting coffee and gives me indigestion.. I can’t figure out the attraction.

I loathe Corporate Starbucks for their anti-Second Amendment stance, and pro-Sodomite and anti-Christian positions. As well as their condescending dismissal of share-holder objections to the Company's foray into social engineering - but that said, this cup issue seems like a tempest in a teapot. Who cares?
But if Dunkin Donuts is able to drive some business away from Starbucks into their stores - good for them.

In my MBA class, our professor told us a successful businessman had to continually gauge five environments and rapidly adapt accordingly. The five environments to always keep an eye on go by the acronym "STEPC". They are: Sounds like Dunkin' Donuts is making use of a few of the STEPC environments in introducing their cups.

Nice timing, DD!

Much ado about nothing.

Outrage should be saved for the outrageous.

They are coffee cups for God’s sake.

"Merry Christmas" would suit me better, but since Starbucks decided to blow off Christmas altogether, this will do.

I need to collect Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme receipts to mail to my local Starbucks.

I don’t even like their coffee. Not a big fan of DD.

But I just laugh at what people get worked up about. If they really want to be outraged, how ‘bout $5 for a cup of Joe? That is outrageous.

I didn't understand the cup outrage either. Starbucks sells plenty of other Christmas-themed merchandise.
