Ugh.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush argued that deporting America's illegal immigrants is not the answer to the country's immigration issues at Tuesday's GOP debate.
Jeb called the action, "Un-American."
"Twelve million illegal immigrants, to send them back, 500,000 a month, is just not possible. And it's not embracing American values.

Why did NOBODY mention E-Verify and the resulting SELF-DEPORTATION?!?!??!?
If you canât get a job without passing E-Verify, and employers are fined for violations, then illegals will LEAVE!!
Here’s an idea. Let’s deport all of the politicians in this country and let the American people run the government.
Piss off Yeb! It is a full scale illegal invasion. NOT defending the integrity of our nation and our borders is what is Un-American!
RepubliCAN’T
The Can’t Do attitude that built this country?
American values like wage depression and tax increases to pay for the invasion.
I don’t know about “Un-American” but it is certainly “Un-Mexican”. And Yeb would never want to be accused of being “Un-Mexican”.
Stay out da Bushes!
Since when do Americans go around wringing their hands and whining, “It’s impossible!” America needs a can-do President, one who says, “We CAN!” Jeb and others who say “We can’t deport” are really saying, “We don’t want to!”
And if American values mean letting just anyone into the country and never deporting them, then why do we have a border at all? Why do we have a Border Patrol? Why do we give out visas with time limits? Why don’t we just open up the borders and say, “Come one, come all”? American values mean obeying the law.
There are no words to describe how much I despise Jeb. The sooner he drops out of the race, the better.
Katie Steinle is not available for comment.
Yes, good point. Then what exactly are American values? Is it a reflection of our values to absorb increasing numbers from all over the world, who depress wages and absorb more and more in public expenditures, as they go on public assistance???
I know liberals didn’t much like the late Sonny Bono. But he once said about illegal immigration, to paraphrase : “what’s to discuss, it’s illegal, these people are here illegally, let’s enforce our laws.” Or words to that effect.
I never understand why it is that we don’t enforce the immigration laws we have on the books, then say we have some crisis or problem due to illegals, but we don’t even try to enforce laws we already have on the books. Then we hear calls for some “comprehensive” immigration reform.
Especially after Obamacare, I don’t want to hear about any “comprehensive” solution to any problem.
Sorry to ramble, but trying to say, how big a problem would we have with illegal aliens if we had simply enforced the laws we already have? Enforce the laws against overstaying tourist or other visas, enforce the laws against hiring illegals, enforce the laws against paying people off the books, etc.
While we would still have problems with illegal aliens, I think that the problem would not have grown to the proportions it has, if we had been enforcing existing laws over the last few decades.
Perhaps this thread could become one where we can all try to describe how much we despise Jeb. Here goes:
I despise Jeb so much I get physically ill whenever he speaks. I feel thirsty, fearful, and have to grab for a glass of water. I wonder when I wake up from this very bad dream in which there's a DC-globalist elite that wants to destroy our nation and force us to decide which dynasty will dictate our destruction...Clinton or Bush.
And I can't see where there's a "lesser of two evils" in that choice.
As mentioned in the comments, start by secure the borders with whatever it takes - troops, volunteers, moats, land mines etc etc etc, follow by mass registration.
Then in a ‘short’ period of time, start enforcing the laws and rules on the book, effectively ‘freezing out’ the illegals who further their illegal status by NOT registering.
Again these idiots like Bush say/think it is ‘impossible’ to eject millions of illegal lawbreakers yet it will be a ‘piece of cake’ to confiscate hundreds of million LEGAL guns.
‘Loved it’ the other day when on (say) Monday one of them described people that used ‘big words’ were hands down more intelligent than the rest of ‘us’.
Then (say) on Thursday, the same outlet said the only people who used big words were basically liars trying to confuse the ‘little people’.
I think the use of ‘big words’ in public speaking go along with drawn out sentences - not only to make them appear condescending BUT also with big words and slow down delivery, people on a timer get to use up their time without saying ‘anything of substance’.
Kind of like the conundrum that took place in Virginias recent election. The ‘papers of record’ had to attack the R’s for not following McAuliffes ‘toll road’ plan while backing the D’s that thought it a bad idea also.
For one D candidate ‘they’ used the term ‘better than the others’ ....Not really a ringing endorsement but, then again the WashPost would probably back A recent ‘Klan’ member running as a D against Mother Theresa as an ‘R’.
If America is not sovereign, America is *not*, period.
I get so tired of Jeb, and Obama, and so many others who embrace so many un-American ideas, lecturing us on what “American values” are.
“Deporting illegals is embracing American LAW!”
And, a nation’s laws enshrine its values.
Got it, Jebbie.
Ike was "un-American."
Got it.
Why not just slink away, loser? Try Mexico. They got you some "American Values" there.
IDIOT!
But we can always hope...
Let’s embrace all illegal activity to make our country fair and kind.
