GOP frontrunner Donald Trump lambasted the permanent political class for supporting the Trans Pacific Partnership free trade deal, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News ahead of the next debate.
'The deal is insanity,' he said. 'That deal should not be supported and it should not be allowed to happen.'
The 5,544-page deal is far too long to be understood, said Trump. 'Nobody understands it,' he said. The 'Obamatrade' deal is longer than Obamacare plus the 2013 amnesty bill, authored by 2016 candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% and Democratic leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
'The deal is so bad because of the fact they dont cover currency manipulation,â Trump added. 'Its the number one weapon used by foreign countries to hurt the United States and take away jobs.'
'China will take advantage of it all the weak points in it, more than anybody else,' said Trump, who has previously criticized Chinas manipulation of currency prices. China is not part of the TPP deal, but is widely expected to join in the next few years. Rubio, Trumpâs chief rival from the Washington establishment, has publicly backed the TPP deal multiple times throughout the year in the Wall Street Journal and in a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations, where he called it a 'pillar' of his desired presidency.
But now Rubios team says hes undecided about the unpopular deal.
However, Rubio also provided the critical 60th vote for Obamatrades Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), which greases the skids for an congressional approval of the trade deal. TPA makes it impossible to amend the deal or any other trade deal brought before Congress and eliminates the ability for a Senate filibuster, essentially sealing final passage of TPP before the dealâs text even became public last week.

How could this be? Certain freepers have posted that Donald is a RINO who will pick Hillary as his VP (or vice-versa). So this cannot be true or else the Donald is making a Yuge Fib.
Thank you for the article. 5500+ pages - wow. Anything that can’t be said in 10 pages or less has got to be bad.
“Certain Freepers” are obvious liars.
He should stop saying “insane” and start calling it what it is: “criminal”.
I think it’s Both. Criminally Insane!
âCertain Freepersâ are obvious liars.”
Or GOPe infiltrators. AKA Karl Rove types.
Excellent
2 1/2 times Obamacare. WOW!
Neither Rubio nor Cruz will be caught anywhere near this insane bill. They know the stakes, and the blame and excuses have all run out.
They also know that Trump will give them each, easily, a million dollars worth of verbal grief if they stutter step again, on this one!
Sessions has advised of the poison pill this TPP give-away poses for the USA, loud and clear. There are simply no excuses left to support this damn thing.
Probably why it was hidden in the basement. :)
Most Obama and Demoncrat bills are thousands of pages. That is how they bury all the treachery.
They know Congress is too lazy to read any bills.
Mr. Trump evidently does not understand that you need to buy a pair of Supreme Court magic reading glasses recommended to facilitate interpreting the Constitution in order make sense out of the Obamatrade deal. /sarc
I know, it has always bothered me. I will say Republicans aren’t much better. Bills should be limited to 10 pages or less, limited to one item per bill. Finance the VA, okay, give dollar amount, break down of dollars, length of time and don’t add on pork for Nevada in the form of parks and Georgia for a new bridge, etc. etc.
We yell at Congress for not reading bills but it is impossible to do so. They should never vote on a bill that an aide hasn’t read and prepared a paper on, short, sweet, pros and cons.
Think tanks engineer legal nuggets for special interests to bury in these legislative monstrosities. They’re then activated by litigation after enactment. “The People” don’t have a chance.
BTTT
I’m glad he’s against it. I would like to hear him emphasise other warts before currency manipulation though. That is probably one of the tamer aspects of it.
If you told me Cruz or Trump, pick one for President, I would go with Cruz, no question. No greater intellect, no person more principled, no person with greater respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. However.....if you ask me to choose between Cruz and Trump for Republican nominee for President, that is a different matter. I would have to assess which one of the two acceptable candidates has a better chance to win. That is a different proposition. Now, if you could just get Trump to join with Cruz, that would be the best of all worlds.
