Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,†Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) took a dig at his opponent Dr. Ben Carson, who is under scrutiny amid the suggestion of discrepancies in the details of his past.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked, “So just curious, I mentioned Ben Carson because we’ve focused a lot on him this morning and some of the discrepancies that have come out of his memoir. I’m wondering if any of the books you’ve written were put under the same scrutiny, would they find voids and holes and does that matter in terms of character and honesty?â€
Huckabee answered, “Well, Mika, I’ve written 12 books. I’m sure they’ve all been put under incredible scrutiny. And it’s not something that you don’t expect. You know that if you run for offices are you’re going to be put through the sausage grinder. I think the most surprising thing is — I’m not going to get into arguing what Ben did and didn’t do but the one thing that I heard him say that I was taken aback he said was that people have been looking into his personal life and they are going after him. I’m thinking pal you ain’t seen nothing yet. They have not yet come after your kids and the rest of your family and they will. This is part of the process. This ain’t bean bag, as we say. It is a brutal process. I’ve been through it for 26 years and life ain’t fair. I’m telling you. But I will go on record today and tell you this, Mika, I never hit my mother with a hammer and I never stabbed anybody. Never wrote about it either. so there you go. At least I’m out there on the record for that.â€

Seriously I’m no Carson fan but this is from a guy who claims moral high ground? Ever hear of “forgive 70 x 7” Huck? How about the fact it’s the Devil, not God, who reminds us of sin we have repented?
I would never vote for Huck...but I am EXTREMELY disappointed in him in regards to these comments.
Huckabee did worse. He stabbed thousands of Arkansas citizens in the back by ordering state police not to cooperate with ICE raids on large businesses.
I'm with you but his supporters (here and elsewhere) say that he didn't really "lie" about the whole WP thing he was just "misunderstood", or something similar. In other words, he never said he "applied" to WP (which is true he didn't say he applied there) and Politico said he did (apply) so this is all Politico's fault for accusing Carson of saying something he didn't. It doesn't matter (to his apologists) that he did in fact say that he was "offered a full scholarship" not only in his book but on TV. To such apologists saying one was "offered a full scholarship" is ok as long as he *might* have been told something "similar".
*shrug* What are ya gonna do? This story though, the whole thing from Huck, anyone can see it's a desperate attempt on Huck's part to steal some of Carson's thunder. So much for Huck's Christian ideals. Pfft

Huckabee never told a gunman to go after the other guy like Carson did.

I agree, Huck is climbing on the bandwagon for ratings.
And, I believe that Carson is a pathological liar. Like I said, if push came to shove, I’d buy that he misunderstood the West Point thing, but I believe he has fabricated his background, same as Obama.
I do not believe, however, that any of the candidates should be castrated because they don’t support Carson in this.
By the way, I don’t buy Huck’s Christian credentials either. :) As a matter of fact, I’m a Trump supporter. As far as I can tell, he’s the only one with an honest, verifiable background.
And you think Carson wouldn’t have done the same? It sure helps him to have never held elected office before so we have no direct idea of how he would govern. But if you put a bleeding heart fundamentalist Christian like Carson, Bush Jr. or Huckabee you will get amnesty in the name of “love thy neighbor.”
