The Concerned Faculty group at the University of Missouri is to begin a two-day walkout today in support of student activists who say the school has done too little to address their concerns about racism and racial intolerance on campus.
"We, the concerned faculty of the University of Missouri, stand in solidarity with the Mizzou student activists who are advocating for racial justice on our campus and urge all MU faculty to demonstrate their support by walking out on Monday.....

One of the alleged incidents, a swastika decorated with feces is still being checked out. If it turns out to be the work of ‘a person of color’, it will, of course disappear down the memory hole—or better yet, a teachable moment showing how the pervasive racism drives said ‘persons of color’ to such desperate acts.
The governor, Nixon, is a democrat and will back the students, just as he backed the rioters in Ferguson. But the General Assembly is firmly in the hands of republicans—conservative republicans with veto-proof majorities in both houses. No matter what Nixon does, there will be negative repercussions for Mizzou if this gets out of hand. If Nixon gets too cute, he’ll find himself impeached.
Missouri (the state) will be saved.
The day that happened, if I happened to be a student there, my applications to transfer elsewhere would go into the mail.

If the school administration caves into these demands there will be serious repercussions from another direction as well. The school donors may well reduce or stop financially supporting the school.
that may be true for a few of the big name universities, but the hundreds of other schools playing FB, whose players seldom go professional, many are role models.
At Mizzou, Michael Sam is considered a “Role Model.”
If I were a prof at Mizzou, I’d be sure to give a pop quiz in every class I taught today and ding anyone who missed it 10% of their grade. Between the over-entitled students and a whack-job faculty, they’ll shut down the university. OTOH... maybe that’s not a bad thing?!
I was at a military school in Lexington MO in the 90s and in Lawrence in the early 2000s.
I always like KCMO area and would not mind living in Leawood, KS Overland Park, KS or Parkville, MO.
Heck, if I could tolerate the liberal stupidity, I could live in Lawrence.
What could be more fun to watch?
Fire all these LIB idiots: Faculty, students, football players. Fools.
Sounds to me like there won’t be an end to this until some blood has been shed. Literally.
It’s not the university’s job to hand hold these little babies on any social issues. Or maybe they are wanting out of midterms.
Push back would be seem as racism. Academics like this university president were the ones pushing this concept. He got the logical conclusion of his own policies.
