I did not know Ted Cruz has a Bush connection. He worked on George W. Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign as a domestic policy adviser and served in the Bush administration as associate deputy attorney general in the Justice Department and director of policy planning in the Federal Trade Commission.

George W. Bush on Senator Cruz (on 18 October): “I just don’t like the guy.”

Cruz's response: “I have great respect for George W Bush, and was proud to work on his 2000 campaign and in his administration. It's no surprise that President Bush is supporting his brother and attacking the candidates he believes pose a threat to his campaign. I have no intention of reciprocating. I met my wife Heidi working on his campaign, and so I will always be grateful to him.”

Yes. It’s in his book and it’s been mentioned quite a few times on different threads. He also helped assemble a legal team for GWB during the Bush vs Gore 2000 election recounts. He formed strategy, wrote pleadings for both the Florida and US Supreme Court winning 2 decisions for the Bush team.

He fought against the GWB administration in it’s attempt to have the US bow to the International Courts in Medellin vs
Texas. He won the case and the courts stated that the IC did not have jurisdiction in the US and the president had no power to enforce it.

From Wiki: “Cruz has been named by American Lawyer magazine as one of the 50 Best Litigators under 45 in America, by The National Law Journal as one of the 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America, and by Texas Lawyer as one of the 25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter Century.

His resume is quite extensive but his book covers almost all of it.

I’m curious though as to what this has to do with Carson and why you brought it up?
