The circular firing squad takes its toll on Republicans
The New York Post ^ | November 7, 2015 | Michael Goodwin

All the GOP guns are blazing — at each other. Mutual destruction makes it hard to win an election, and easy to lose one. Just ask President Mitt Romney.

The brutal attacks he endured in the 2012 primary softened him up for the Obama juggernaut in the general election. Obama’s claims that Romney was a greedy capitalist who destroyed middle-class jobs echoed charges made first by Newt Gingrich and other Republicans.

Trump is the master of insult this time, and takes pleasure in slashing his rivals. Truth be told, he’s good at it, with his mocking of Jeb Bush as low energy crystallizing a sense that Bush didn’t have fire in the belly and starting his slide toward the bottom.

The Post is funny. They’re not for Trump, but every once in a while something pro-Trump slips through.

I never read Goodwin or Peyser. They are lame compared with some of the syndicated columnists on the op-ed pages. Betsy McCaughey is one of the best. Robert A. George (editorial writer) is a riot.

I kind of feel bad that the candidates cannot keep up with the self-financed Trump, even though I do not like any of them. They start running out of funding as their poll numbers go down, and then they start drinking the salt water of chamber of commerce money, which is a losing battle because they compromise the very qualities that got people to like them in the first place.

“We have one candidate who will not align himself with the lefty media for short term gain and is conservative across the board. “

Other than backing amnesty and a 500% increase in H1Bs. (If he won’t say what he’ll do with millions of illegals, I won’t be gullible enough to assume. There’s a reason for months of silence when all other candidates are forthcoming.)

And this issue will destroy this country be any of the others matter.

If so, then why hasn’t Cruz denounced his much-repeated plan to increase H1Bs by 500%?

I’ve been waiting months for him to either explain why we need them or to recant.

He also needs to explain what he would do with millions of illegals. I don’t but into the ‘we have to be silent’ bit. He is running for president, for heaven’s sake! He’s not in a bunker fighting off a Nazi invasion, trying to disguise troop locations, LOL! That was plain silly spinning.

With all other candidates being forthcoming, now is the time for him unless he wants to lose votes. He lost mine.

Unless being forthcoming about what his donors he made a deal with will lose hum even more votes - I don’t see any other rational explanation for his silence, for one so gifted in eloquence and courage.

As long as Cruz is pro H1B, he’s showing he is captive to the same puppet masters as the rest.
