A Long Island mall swapped Santa's sleigh for something resembling a spaceship and nixed the Christmas tree because it didn't want to "offend" anyone, irate shoppers told The Post.
The Roosevelt Field Mall ditched its traditional holiday village and put Ol' Saint Nick inside a winter-themed "glacier" instead. But some say the white and blue display looks more like something out of "Star Trek" than "Twas the Night Before Christmas."
"Santa comes along with a decorated tree; he doesn't come with a spaceship," Maria Lovdahl fumed.
The Williston Park mother of two was shopping Thursday night when she spotted the apparently futuristic Santa photo kiosk.
"Me and my husband looked at each other and said, 'What is that?'" Lovdahl recalled. "They said it was because people were offended by the traditional Christmas display, that they had gotten comments in prior years."
After a lifetime of shopping at Roosevelt Field and bringing her kids there, Lovdahl said, "I wonât be shopping there this year."
Betty Borrero, 32, heard so much about the new display she came to see it for herself.
"I bring my child, I want to see the big tree in the background. This is blank," she said, noting she'll take her kid to Macy's for this year's holiday pictures.
Mall management, which charges anywhere from $24.99 to $59.99 for pictures with Santa, confirmed the change was made to avoid offending people, said Caren Toal, who was with Lovdahl.
"The people who answered the phone at the mall actually said, in order not to offend anyone, they were simplifying the Christmas display," said Toal, who is also now boycotting the mall.

why give your Xmas money to these fools ?
Well I’m offended by the PC Christmas. I demand recompense!
I worked there during college in the 60’s. How times have changed.
Boycott the mall in that case.
” Lovdahl said, “I wonââ¬â¢t be shopping there this year.”
There’s your boycott. I’ll be in the Philippines next week and the Christmas displays were up by October.
Funny, they don’t mind the money that people spend shopping for CHRISTmas presents.
Why so fools give their money to Dish/Cable companies and complain about the programming and leftist politics they finance?
Same difference.
This is what happens when government turned America into a flophouse for foreigners.
And ESPN. And the homo-Nazi who runs Apple.
Wait....this mall has a Santa? Already?
How many malls have muslim owners or major muslim investors setting policy?
Here the result is achieved by our fire code, which now prohibits live Christmas trees from public areas as a “fire hazard.”
Oh God don’t speak ill of the sacred Apple! Half ther place will go into vaporlock between the Rush fans and the usual crew of DNC contributors in denial.
Let’s not offend 2 or 3 people by offending many thousands. Genius!
I dunno...I guess I would be a little surprised to see that much Christmas decorating going on at a mall this early in the season.
Maybe that is why I stay out of malls.
And please...I love the fake outrage. If you are THAT much of a Christian, you know the whole Christmas shopping scam has been crap for 100 years.
If the local UCC stops putting up a manger, then I will start feeling outrage.
If the mall doesn’t have enough plastic baby Jesuses in their open space, don’t go there any more.
OR...you can simply spread holiday cheer where you go.
Its up to you. But the outrage seems hard to maintain.
You realize that most of those foreigners are much more Christian than the average native American...right?
The local first responders refer to Christmas Tree season as House Fire Season.
I think your local Fire Department has a point.
They also did this at South Park mall in Charlotte.
Put back the Santa Claus and Christmas trees just like it says in the Bible. Another ridiculous Christian “controversy” just like the idiots upset over Starbucks’ plain red cups.
