Why are you here?" I asked.
The whistleblowers looked at each other and smiled.
"Because I love my country. And I just can't do this no more. It's not right," said one of the IRS workers.
"That's why we're both here," said the other, echoing her colleague with long, deliberate pauses. "It's a crime, and it'sâ¦justâ¦notâ¦right."
Together, they have decades of experience at the Internal Revenue Service, working on the front lines with frustrated, angry or confused taxpayers who contact the agency for help.
Risking their jobs to come forward, the whistleblowers do not want to show their identity. But they do want to show how the IRS is a knowing accomplice to millions of cases of identity theft while keeping victims in the dark.
A five-month Eyewitness News investigation shows their concerns are well-documented, and the IRS has been warned about the problem for years. Within a massive federal agency that claims to be taking identity theft seriously, the reality â in many cases â is very different.

The Obama Administration has become an incredibly large criminal conspiracy. Unprecedented level of corruption in the USA.
[ My 23 year old daughter applied for a job last winter where a background check was done. It came back showing her home address and one in Chicago with her SS NO. I sent her to the SS office and they told her they couldnât do anything; she had to go to the IRS, which she did. Nothing has happened but for a form letter from the IRS acknowledging her claim. I signed her up with Lifelock as a hopeful preventative move. ]
Find the person who lives in Chicago, kill them and then claim it was suicide....
Then dare them to prosecute you for suicide
Identity theft should be what horse theft was 150 years ago....
A hanging offense....
Not only for those who do it, but for those who enable it as well...

Those are not the only choices.
We can deport the illegal aliens and put able bodied Americans to work that are now on welfare.
WE have plenty of low income Americans that can do these jobs. It would be a twofer. Get people off welfare and get them in to the workforce.
Bonus points for getting illegals out of the country and off of our too generous public healthcare system and their kids out of our schools.
I would sue the company in Plainfield for fraud and attempt to get the illegal worker's identity.
Sue the employer that accepted the fraudulent S/S number.
The employer is also filing a false document with the W-2.
This will change once we get the undocumented Moslem asshole out of the White House.
Secret IRS policy hides identity theft from victims
Social Security dept also hides ID theft from victims.
See my post number 15. I sense a heretofore unused strategy.
I’m pretty sure every American knows in their heart something drastic needs to happen with the IRS. It has gotten too big for its britches just like the EPA and apparently accountable to no one just like the VA.
Our government needs to be run more like a civilian corporation with firings and punishment of some kind for wrong doing. Especially blatant malicious wrong doing. Things that would be a firing offense in the civilian world should also be for any civic service worker. They should have opportunity to present their side if the worker or manager feels wronged but not being able to fire dead weight is killing our government and us. Literally.
I understand how you feel. I feel the same way. We have treasonous turds in power in government and industry and it’s hard to believe anyone will be able to make a difference.
Why? It’s the GOVT that’s not doing its (proper/authorized/mandatory) *JOB*. It’s not the biz job to ensure legality (in as much as it’s NOT their responsibility to supply benefits/health-insurance).
IMO, since Congress created these problems (most because what Congress does is ILLEGAL), these bureaucracies and their ‘employees’ should be able to be sued for liability (since We the People cannot *vote* them out).
Is it NOT their job to ensure the process(es) and data are correct? IE: The LAW is followed. And when they neglect to adhere to the same....? What happens to We the People, should we decide to do the same (yep, jail-time)?
Of course the biz can be held liable for damages resulting form the biz' conscious failure to verify employee records.
Course, they can (and sometimes are). Govt is GREAT about foisting to others that which 1) it has NO authority 2) which it itself should.
Makes it quite convenient when they shrug their shoulders in feigned surprise and indignation.
Free men are NOT required for permission to work (enter into a contract). And, the question of, ‘By what authority?’ is never (rarely) asked.
Pingaling.
Here’s the money quote, “The job of the IRS is to ensure that everyone who has taxable income, and has a filing requirement, has the ability to file a tax return and pay their fair share of taxes.” IOW, they look the other way when the SSN and ITN don’t match, because that conveniently provides those here illegally a way to “pay their fair share.” Just collect the $$$, doesn’t matter if the real owners of the SSN get screwed in the process, as long as they can collect a few more $$$.
