Legendary US Army Commander Says Russia Would "Annihilate" US In Head-To-Head Battle
Zero Hedge ^ | 7 Nov 2015 | Tyler

Late in September, we brought you "US Readies Battle Plans For Baltic War With Russia" in which we described a series of thought experiments undertaken by The Pentagon in an effort to determine what the likely outcome would be should something go horribly "wrong" on the way to landing the US in a shooting war with Russia in the Balkans.

The results of those thought experiments were not encouraging.

River Crossings are tough military operations.

The Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean are two might big rivers to try and get across and attack the United States.

The reverse of that is hard for us. That’s why we propositioned heavy equipment in Germany for all those years. We did transport in advance.

Let’s face it. The Democrats are counting on the Atlantic and Pacific while they use tax money to buy votes for the Democrat Party.

WHAT AN IDIOT! WE CANNOT LOSE.

Why, because we spend more on our military than Russia spends on theirs...therefore we are INVINCIBLE.

How did he feel about the homosexualization of the military, gals in combat, gals as “Rangers”, etc...or did anybody think to ask?

Why would we ask about social issues as deemed a "done deal" by the civilian leadership? He gave a talk about geopolitical issues that could involve U.S. military intervention and his read on those threats.

You can read yes?

I think so.

Any infantry armed with a Stoner designed rifle versus the current Kalashnikovs in 5.45...

Where did you say "white men with modern weapons"? And why do you think the Russians are in any way like us apart from skin color?

They are not retarded inbred muslims with 60 year old weapons. Arrogance is deadly.

Here is the Powerpoint deck. It’s not what the headline makes it out to be. Note that it was delivered to McCain.

COL Macgregor’s point was that Ukraine could field a massive army of hundreds of thousands of motivated, patriotic irregulars against a trained Russian force of about 50,000-75,000.

Why should we get involved at all in an area that Russia has, for many centuries, considered part of their territory? Why should we get involved in Syria and risk WW3 where Russia has had significant influence for 50-60 years and will further wear themselves down?

Iran is a real threat who passionately hates us. Russia is not the USSR anymore. They don’t really give a damn about us aside from what they see as our meddling in their spheres.

Hell, I wonder if the USSR was ever what we thought the USSR was.

We’ve re-discovered the Armored Cavalry Regiment.

I like some of the equipment, though.

We have formidable space-based scalar weapons. In a serious war, no messing around, winner take all, nukes are obsolete.

Not a chance in hell that Russia could defeat the U.S. in a true showdown....we have 21st century munitions and an UNLIMITED access to money....they have neither.

:-)

Did you hear about the Trident launch off the coast of Southern Cali this afternoon:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/11/07/secret-u-s-military-operations-have-reportedly-closed-ocean-airspace-by-lax-over-next-week/

The military redirected air traffic into and out of LAX. Not sure why the need to conduct a missile test close to LAX, but surely good reason.

I would think triggering a volcano a more likely possibility.

Yep. Not likely to trigger a big earthquake, certainly not anything more than a localized quake and not likely a big one. But volcanoes are something else. There are several volcanoes in northern California, that have active steam vents indicating magma chambers deep underground. There have been swarms of earthquakes lately around these volcanoes. So there is the possibility of a nuke collapsing the roof over a magma chamber and causing a volcanic eruption. Any one of them from Mt. Lassen to Mt. Shasta could erupt. Even then we could survive the devastation outside areas in its path. These volcanoes have erupted within the last 200 years at various times without impacting nearby cities. I'd worry more about what Obama is doing to us than these things.
