What can be done to eliminate the annoying symbols that appear after posting an article?
All that can be done is grin and bear it.
It seems to happen anytime the quote symbol is used. I wonder if it’s some virus in the server.
An apostrophe as well seems to do it...let me try..

The best explanation I’ve seen so far, other than a fix at FR’s end, is to copy & paste the excerpt into notepad with ANSI encoding. Then copy & paste that back into FR. The symbols you see have to do with the encoding of the punctuation marks like the “Smart Quotes” used in MS Word.
Disclaimer: I am not a computer whiz by any stretch, but I have tried this method, and it seems to work.
Yes. Manually replace all the quotation marks, apostrophe’s, and hyphens in anything you copy and paste.
Something changes when you copy and paste them. You’ll see they look different when you replace them.
It doesn’t happen all the time, some sources are fine, but enough to be a problem.
It’s a pain to do that but makes it much easier to read.
