In his 1990 autobiography, âGifted Hands,â Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the classâidentified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301âthat their final exam papers had âinadvertently burned,â requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher. All the students but Mr. Carson walked out.
âThe professor came toward me. With her was a photographer for the Yale Daily News who paused and snapped my picture,â Mr. Carson wrote. â âA hoax,â the teacher said. âWe wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class.â â Mr. Carson wrote that the professor handed him a $10 bill.
No photo identifying Mr. Carson as a student ever ran, according to the Yale Daily News archives, and no stories from that era mention a class called Perceptions 301. Yale Librarian Claryn Spies said Friday there was no psychology course by that name or class number during any of Mr. Carsonâs years at Yale

You probably should be a Christian if you’re going to decide what makes another person Christian. We are convicted by our own words.
“Itâs not any one incident â itâs the preponderance of ALL the incidents that point to a character of embellishment.”
I agree. There is a tendency in him to exaggerate and build himself up. The humble surgeon is not humble. At all.
Ben Carson’s rise in the polls prompts “deeper questions” as opposed to real research and reporting.
Then let him show everybody that by his policy preferences instead of jumping on speculation while we wait for the research to come out and be tested. All I see here is a bunch of Dupes for Donald grasping at straws (hence the Politico West Point debacle). If they applied as much scrutiny to what he says in terms of how he can spin it later when the deal turns out not to be what they expected, they wouldn't be so sanguine.
that's true, but given the timing and resources necc to pull this off, Trumps fingerprints are all over this.
You are of course totally wrong..... he is a great candidate. It is because of his greatness that such great effort is being made to eliminate him
The rats with the aid of extremely gullible conservative friends eliminate what is dangerous to them
“So are jews whackjobs too?”
Only on Saturday, but ‘Never On Sunday’!
(slight reference to a movie long ago.)
I had to chuckle at your reply as the story is so closely aligned with the Animal House scene where Otter goes to the girls college to enlist dates.
Animal House, a great movie, a close second to Gone with the Wind.
HEY RUDE YOU!
When I posted that to you, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT GOOGLE RESTRICTS ITS SEARCH ENGINE TO ONE DAMN VIEW!
Just like Greetings_Puny_Humans wrote in Post #3, I entered the TITLE into GOOGLE and was able to connect to and read the very stupid WSJ article.
I came back to this thread to post the link to you. Had NO IDEA it would NOT work for you!
I just tried the same procedure using BING and it worked, so I guess the WSJ reads the IP's.
>> Then let him show everybody that by his policy preferences
Uh... Carson’s “policy preferences” (For TPP, Amnesty is a “Tip” for illegals’ service, talk to belligerants don’t bomb them, you don’t need that assault rifle unless you live in the country, prefers the company of Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton, etc.) are the main reason I oppose him.
His tendency to dissemble and exaggerate and his strange ideas and his off-kilter religious preferences only add fuel to the already raging fire.
Relative to our better choices, Obama 2.0 (a.k.a. Carson) would SUCK as POTUS.
Now the Journalists are vetting a candidate? What happened in 2008? Never was this much investigation done to the ONE.
If everything negative ever written or spoken about Barack is due to racism, can we not say the same for the attacks on Ben?
bingo
Don’t know where the patho was born but his biography listed him as born in Kenya and he used it for 16 years. A liar no matter how you slice it.
“The problem is each story chips away at his reputation for honesty. They are palinizing him. So he lied about a stupid class at Yale? Who cares right? OK, well add that to being held at gunpoint at Popeyeâs. No evidence. The stabbing, hammer, rocks, bricks of his youth. No evidence. The sheltering white students during a high school race riot mentioned in the WSJ story. No evidence. Now you get into the kooky pyramid grain stuff. The creationism evolution debate. Transgender bathrooms. Support for TPP. Support for amnesty. and on and on and on.
I get people here hate politico and want to rally around Carson today but objectively the guy is a walking disaster area as a candidate. Heâs not going to be the nominee.”
Yes, the unfortunate truth is that the world of modern Presidential politics is its own arena, and is brutally scrutinizing towards anyone who is coming in from the non-political world. This is why I have accepted that we are better off with the most conservative true politician we can get, who, IMO, is Cruz.
It’s almost as if politicians get some sort of a morality “pass”, as it is sort of expected and assumed that they will connive, make deals, dodge, and fudge the truth along the way, as they play the political game. But if you come in as a business person, doctor, or otherwise from the non-political world, you are going to be held to an incredible standard. It’s not fair, but it seems to be the case.
Also, with regard to Carson, the picture I am starting to get of him is that he was an incredibly ambitious young man, and once he charted his path, he may have been unable to resist embellishing, if not fabricating, stories that would enhance his ability to sell his narrative of his life story. At this point, the anal exam he has thus far received is going to turn into a full colonoscopy.
You may know those preferences, but "everybody" doesn't yet. Give it time.
Relative to our better choices, Obama 2.0 (a.k.a. Carson) would SUCK as POTUS.
"Obama 2.0" is going too far and you know it.
>> “Obama 2.0” is going too far and you know it.
So YOU say.
I’m thankful that we won’t need to discover that I am right after all. Carson will go nowhere.
Carson attacks political correctness, in politics and war. Commander Xero pushes its limits, everywhere and without limit, with the purpose of destroying America from within. He was raised as a Muslim and by revolutionary communists. The two are not the same.
