Now Trump believes CNN and Politico? Trump is my favorite but his response seems poor on this one.
Trump may be premature here and I must admit I was pretty quick to fall for this story. I tend agree with Rush this is a lynch job and the story is not what it is being presented as being. That said, Im still leaning Trump.
Trump should not repeat the lies of the MSM.
Trump should probably try defending Carson if this is truly a media lie. It’ll endear him to Carson supports, he can’t alienate all of them and shouldn’t because they can be Trump supporters
Donald! Pipe down for a minute. Shhhhhh! Take a breath. Think this through.
Or just go for broke and destroy Carson. That should help Ted Cruz.
Shove it, trump.
Trump, the liberal, probably doesn’t care if the Politico story is true. He’s happy to join in with the liberal media in attacking his opponents.
This type of attacking may have worked for Jebby, because not too many people like him very much. It may work against Rubio as well.
Carson however has a legacy as a very successful AA doctor, who has spent a career helping the weakest amongst us.
This might get more sympathy votes for Carson. The big bad billionaire is teaming up with the despicable lefty media, bullying him and ruining his reputation.
In this case, I say "Go Trump Go!"
Trump’s playing right into their hands. They put Carson #1 so Trump would attack him and now he has.
Politico might even be in on it to get Trump to jump at headlines. I thought Trump was smarter than this.
Not impressed Donald. Stay off of your computer.
Carson did not tell a big lie did he?. He just did some conflating of a truth: he would have easily gained entry at West Point due to his success in the ROTC. That’s my understanding.
So this is a hit piece.
Question then is, “Did the Carson campaign *really* admit that the story was false?”
If so, then:
1) What was the *actual wording* that the campaign used in the email?
2) Why would they even admit to anything being false, if they did, instead of telling Politico to stuff themselves?
If not, then:
1) Does the Carson campaign have the email trail (hopefully they save those sorts of things) both of what Politico wrote to them, and how they *actually* responded?
It’d be interesting to see Carson’s campaign make all of that public.
IF you guys are going to turn this all around on Trump. Carson left the impression that he was officially “accepted” to West Point, but what it looks like someone in the military possibly close to General Westmoreland who said that Carson should pursue an appointment to the Academy and that he would get accepted. ...It is an embellishment.
Trump calls CNN and Politico liars on a regular basis. I agree with his assessment. Yet, when their stories discredit Carson, suddenly they have credibility ?
Not sure what to make of either one of these men in an election like no other.
This is what I found when I looked at Trump’s tweets -

“@Robostop10: @realDonaldTrump This is not good. http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/ben-carson-west-point-215598 ⦠WOW, one of many lies by Ben Carson! Big story.
So, this came from Robostop10, not Donald Trump.
what lie?
Before we spend any more time of Politico smear jobs we need this question answered by Politco. There is an “air of desperation” wafting around DC these days, centered on Politco.
West Point told ABC news there is no way to prove, or disprove, Dr Carson’s statements about West Point.
If there is no evidence from West Point, what is the source for Politicos much repeated smear of Dr Carson?
Think the American People have a right to know who gave Politico this fraudulent information? Politico needs to provide their evidence because right now there is NOTHING to back up their accusation.
Seems we might have Rathergate 2.0 brewing here
I find it stunning that Trump jumped on the MSM bandwagon on this. IMHO this could be the beginning of the end for Trump.
With regard to the Carson “scholarship offer”: I personally don’t see a problem with what Carson said. From my own personal experience; I was recruited and verbally promised an athletic scholarship to attend a school that I did not apply to. In my mind, I feel as though I was offered a scholarship to attend that school.
Carson would fit right in to Washington politics.
