Iranâs Revolutionary Guards Corps has in recent weeks launched increased cyber attacks on Obama administration officials, hacking into their email and social media accounts. U.S. officials believe that the hacks are related to the recent arrest of an Iranian-American businessman in Tehran.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has routinely conducted cyberwarfare against American government agencies for years. But the U.S. officials said there has been a surge in such attacks coinciding with the arrest last month of Siamak Namazi, an energy industry executive and business consultant who has pushed for stronger U.S.-Iranian economic and diplomatic ties. Obama administration personnel are among a larger group of people who have had their computer systems hacked in recent weeks, including journalists and academics, the officials said. Those attacked in the administration included officials working at the State Departmentâs Office of Iranian Affairs and its Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
An Obama administration official said that the U.S. continues to probe a possible connection to the arrest of Namazi.
âU.S. officials were among many who were targeted by recent cyberattacksâ the official stated. âU.S. officials believe some of the more recent attacks may be linked to reports of detained dual citizens and others.â
Officials said that the increased cyber attacks have been particularly waged on administration officials working on Iran policy.
Namazi was reportedly arrested last month during a stay in Tehran to visit his family. According to individuals close to the businessman, intelligence officers with the Revolutionary Guards seized his computer after searching his familyâs home. Namazi is the 5th U.S. citizen currently in prison in Iran.
News of the increased cyber attacks comes months after Iran agreed on a nuclear deal with the U.S. and other world powers that the Obama administration hoped would lead to more cooperation between the two countries.

These cyber attacks launched by Iran's Revolutionary Guards are meant to convey not only Iran's enmity to the US and their aversion to a fellow gay Muslim but to a larger degree to demonstrate the utter naivete, stupidity of the US for having assisted Iran in so many ways all for naught because "we still hate you every bit as much as we always have and maybe now even more because you are so stupid, gullible."
Let’s test Boeing’s new EMP weapon on them.
I was gonna suggest RPG’s, but I like your idea too.

Nothing sweet about it. The free world is in serious trouble with these yoyos at its head.
Certainly, to be proven right about how sinister and malevolent the Iranians are is nothing to celebrate. The other day several top Israeli officials one by one said that Secretary of State Kerry had the mental capacity of a 12 year old. Do I want someone with the capacity of a 12 year old to be doing negotiations with such barbarians as the 3M's of Iran.(Mad Mullahs of Mayhem?)But hearing that he is considered such a fool provide some sort of satisfaction.
It’s the PTSD. He relives getting a splinter in his finger every night, and wakes up pontificating.
BTW:Lurch found out recently that he’s Jewish. It was revealed that some grandmother of his was Jewish. Just like the Jewish denier Secretary of State Madame Albright-enstien.
That makes everything all better./s
Wow. You’re so easy to please :-)
Now he’s a self-hating leftist Jewish wack job, whereas before he was just a leftist wack job with a vocabulary too big for his brain. Anything’s an improvement.
Too late- a bunch of western teens with Palestinians sympathies [CWA] already hacked the Obama admin...
