The skies are falling. I think staying home is the best choice.

Waiting for ISIS clarification. I expect them to say, “No, we didn’t down this one. We downed the one in Sinai. Really.”

IMHO, no matter the reason, American citizens do not belong in the Middle East right now.

Update, related: Reuters reports new ISIS audio insisting they brought down Russian plane in Sinai, “will disclose mechanism when we want and in the way we want.”

I think staying off of russian planes would also be a good idea. It has often been a good idea even in the best of times.

So, the title says "Dozens Killed" while the story says "It is not yet known how many were killed on the plane, or on the ground".
As usual, the reporting is clear as mud.

I still think it broke apart in midair because of a crack in the tail and an incomplete repair. Same thing happened to a Chinese plan recently. New airplanes are made of composite parts and there is almost no what a crack can be detected if it is internal to the composite material the way you can with metal/aluminum parts.

I don’t discount terrorism at all - I don’t trust Muslim ground crews in poor countries but mechanical/stress failures still happen more than terrorist attacks.
