The Republican race for president appears headed to be a battle between four men: Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio. Although Rubio is known as a potential favorite of the establishment, heâs also seen as someone who can bridge the gap with the conservative base, thereby uniting the party as a whole.
That sure sounds great, but now thereâs a problem for conservatives even larger than Rubioâs history with promoting policies that allow amnesty: His commitment to the rule of law, no matter the issue.
n a little-noticed interview earlier this year with Univisionâs Jorge âBorders Are Racistâ Ramos, Rubio said that as president he would allow President Obamaâs unconstitutional executive amnesty for DREAMers to stand while the process plays out:
Hereâs what Rubio literally said, as quoted by Breitbart.com:
"DACA ⦠applies to young people that arrived in this country at a very young age before they were adults and I donât think we can immediately revoke that ⦠Iâm not calling for it to be revoked tomorrow, or this week, or right away."
He continued:
"I think it will have to end at some point and I hope it will end because of some reform to the immigration laws."
In other words, Rubio is pledging to allow an unconstitutional law to stand until Congress ratifies his preferred law, which may or may not produce a similar policy.
Remarkably, Rubioâs reasoning is almost an exact mirror of President Obamaâs rhetoric:
President Obama told Congress: âIf folks are serious about getting immigration reform done [they should be] passing a bill and getting it to my desk. And then the executive actions that I take go away.â Similarly, Obama told George Stephanopoulos after being pressed on his executive amnesty: âWell, my response is pass a bill.â

At least Rubio’s honest. We now have three candidates left. If the GOPe were smart they’d back Cruz, but they’re petty, vindictive and arrogant, so they won’t. There’s nothing the Old Guard cannot forget and nothing they want to learn.
A conservative who supports big government is a liberal who calls himself conservative
Which is what Rubio is
Rubio is honest?
He says he’s conservative and goes of to fight for invasion with chick shumer
Please
Rubio believes he is conservative and by DC standards that’s probably true. His words belie his conservatism and prove his confusion. We now know he’s not conservative, if by conservative you mean a return to the Constitution and a move away from tyranny and fascism. That’s my definition.
Have to give Screwbio credit for being forthright. If this clown gets anyplace, it will not be because he lied. His stance is so anti-American, I just do not see how he will get far unless the GOPe just take control and say to hell with the others.
“I donât get why this guy is âclimbingâ in the polls.”
Because people haven’t really focused on him, and his competition on the entire left side of the Republican Party, starting with Bush, is collapsing around him.
He’s picking up their votes, but not any from Trump, Carson, or Cruz - and he will have a really tough time winning without those votes, as there are not that many remaining left-side votes for Rubio. He peaks at 25%, at best, probably 20%, which will not be enough.
There’s no such thing as a quote Hispanic race unquote. That term has been applied to those from individual South American countries some of which have governments hostile to US and actually claim parts of this country as theirs, and others which are friendly. They are composed of various races as we are, with the difference being their primary common language is Spanish.
This destructive utopian Mexican open border approach of even considering granting those who enter the US illegally through it, entitlement to all benefits beyond those of what we give to our citizens destroys the value of an American citizenship. It is being promoted by the name callers mostly in socialist circles such as the democrat party as well some republicans who use such terms as nativist promoting racial division .
What we should be doing is taking a very very hard look at our relationship with Mexico and its myriad treatment of Americans as 2nd class citizens and its claims on American territory . While we are expected to allow Mexican citizens enter to our country illegally and offer them preferential treatment over our citizens allowing them to purchase land in their own name and and even voting privledges which they cannot do if they choose to retire in Mexico.
The leading Republican candidates and that includes Trump may mention some of this but thus far have refused to identify the problem let alone properly redress it by suggesting or implementing reciprocity.
Hope you learned how to keep bar from your papa there Marco.
REJECT RUBIO!
Marco Hussein Amnesty Rubio is worse as someone who votes for this clown might think he would actually do something good. Secretly the nitwit will probably leave Obamacare alone too.
Rubio wouldn’t change a thing. He was put in by conservatives but has become part of the problem. He wouldn’t be much different from a democrat.
We’re $20 trillion in the hole. There will be an economic trainwreck if things don’t change direction soon. Rubio isn’t someone that fits the leadership we need. Honestly, there is only one candidate that I believe that can address our debt and economic woes — Trump.
Adios Mario!
I donât get why this guy is âclimbingâ in the polls.
He has not backed down from his stance on amnesty.
***********************************
Most likely Dem latinos who respond to the phone polls by saying they lean GOP and they like his amnesty position.
Rubio is a POS.
There is no substance in this man.
Obama acts just like Castro does and Rubio is all for it.
Can we deport Rubio to Cuba, where a dictator at least says he is a dictator, that is more honest than Obama and Rubio who want to keep ignoring the law.
Yep! Rubio has been destroyed by his donors and the consultants. He had a lot of promise.
Conservative is, and I paraphrase f not quote mark levin, not an ideology.
Liberalism, socialism, now, I would say, environmentalism, are ideologies. They follow ways of thinking that followers must follow and try to convert others into following in order for them to work
Conservative does not depend on everyone following it. When the country doesn’t follow it the country flounders. But conservative does not.
It is a proven successful way of life it’s common sense.
So the definitionn of conservative doesn’t change according to people’s ideas. Rubio can say he’s a conservative but that does not mean he is one. He doesn’t have the power to change its definition
No one does
