Democrats Blame 'Trump-Mania' for Matt Bevin Victory in Kentucky

Democrats stunned by Matt Bevin's victory in the race for Kentucky governor blamed "Trump-mania" for the Tea Party candidate's unlikely 53%-44% win over Democrat Jack Conway.

"Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity," said Elisabeth Pearson, executive director of the Democratic Governors Association, in an official statement on the results.

Pearson added: "Unfortunately, he ran into the unexpected headwinds of Trump-mania, losing to an outsider candidate in the year of the outsider. While Jack Conway came up just short tonight, his presence in this race strengthened the issues debate in Kentucky."

No.

This is message aimed squarely at the GOP establishment.

They would have been happy to see Bevin lose so they’re not exactly thrilled by his come-from-behind win.

The GOP grassroots is showing its a political force to be reckoned with.

Party insiders ignore the result to their peril.

Youve gotta hit bottom eventually and from there start levelling off.

Boulder just voted in a new tax to fight climate change, how much lower can it go?

But...but...but...all the polls said that the Democrat was winning. Could the polls just be propaganda to persuade the “undecided” to support the perceived winner?

Yes, this is it. Trump is unbeatable. Hillary should just quit now.

Take nothing as truth from the RATS, nothing, even their logic is a lie.

If Trump has the election in the bag, and can campaign where he wants...how long could his coattails be?

It occurred to me legalization might be another election trick to increase support for RATs.

Boulder is very liberal.

If they want to pay more taxes, that’s their affair.

Blame Obama & Hillary...And give credit to Matt Bevin. His performance in the last debate was terrific.

Honestly, I don't know. I'm up in Fort Collins and not acquainted with people into that. No pot shops here that I know of. I will say that I have seen a lot more people begging on the corners in the last year or so.

Don’t worry too much. Canon is a very conservative area as is most of Southern Colorado except for Pueblo. Just go to the Tea Party meetings, and don’t forget to have lots of guns and ammo (escaped prisoners, don’t you know. /s) You will absolutely LOVE it here. I could go on and on...

We WILL take this state back even if we have to wall off Denver and Boulder with 50 foot fences, razor wire and land mines.

Not really. It is not lefty politics. It is crony capitalism shafting American workers. Voters are sick of the cheap labor express. Every candidate depends on mega rich donors. The rich donors love the cheap labor express of H1-B visa foreign workers willing to work for 60% American pay levels. And the rich donors love flood of legal and illegal immigrants, again working for sub-standard wage levels.

The result is Americans get laid off, and their next job pays way less.

We have not seen a self funding candidate for decades, and won’t see another one for many more decades. The candidate must be mega rich, BUT MUCH MORE THAN THAT MUST HAVE PERSONALITY which resonates with voters. Billionaires are dime-a-dozen, but I have not seen anyone with personality of Trump since 1960. JFK was rich but not even close to Trump’s wealth.

Let Trump-mania continue right through November 2016.

The first rule of Tea Party is - there is no Tea Party.

Even the libs and GOPe want to believe in this first rule of Tea Party. They want to believe so desperately.

True, but liberalism seems to spread like cancer. Boulder today, Fort Collins tomorrow. And Fort Collins did vote in city provided broadband. That means soon I will only be able to by broadband from the city, just like electricity and water are now. The have tiered pricing, which means if you have a big house that uses more electricity and water you pay more per unit for the utilities you use. I have a big house, it's a double whammy for me.

While Jack Conway came up just short tonight . . .

Yet shockingly, when Baby Cuomo, running for re-election as governor against an essentially unfunded County Executive, won by the same margin, the New York Daily News called it a landslide. Does that mean the New York press is as partisan-Democrat as a Democratic candidate's own campaign manager?

Trump supporters should take note: leading in the polls doesn’t equal assured victory.>>>>
i don’t think trump will ever lead in the national one on one polls after the conventions.
