Do you have a good reason?

Yes, I do. The Founding Fathers, the Supreme Court, and historians have spoken and written at length about the inherent dangers of dual nationality. When a U.S. citzen with dual citizenship is abroad in his or her country of birth, he or she has legal obligations to that country and that country has a predominant claim to him or her.

So, while China may not recognize the Chinese citizenship of a child adopted by Americans, other countries do. The inherent dangers of having an American POTUS who has duties and obligations to a foreign country as its citizen while within its borders is obvious.

That this child feels American or is raised as an American is irrelevant. The NBC claused was enacted to prevent foreign designs on the presidency. There should be no exceptions made for Chinese-born children adopted by Americans.

Such as? Bear in mind these children DO NOT have dual nationality. As soon as they touch American soil, provided both parents went to China to get them, American citizenship is automatic.

Not obvious at all, particularly where there is no dual-citizenship. Please elaborate.

Absurd! The defining characteristic to being an American, as opposed to any other nationality, is a set of ideals, not a particular lineage or race. This was eloquently elaborated on by D'Sousa, though in which of his books escapes me at the moment.

Further, it is absurd to think the NBC restriction are an efficacious safeguard against "foreign designs on the Presidency." If there is any clause of the Constitution, aside from those regarding slavery, that has been made obsolete by modernity, the NBC clause is surely it. Countries with nascent plans to subvert the Presidency simply do not work that way any more.
