To hear political pundits tell it, Donald Trump has little chance to attract enough Hispanic voters to win the presidency in 2016 because of his plans to build a border wall and deport all illegal immigrants in America. Some pollsters and activists who have whipped up past Hispanic support for Republicans, however, see it differently.
They think Mr. Trumpâs lasering in on the economy and his perceived competence in creating jobs will appeal to the one segment of Hispanics that matters most in elections: those who work and tend to vote. Thatâs because those voters fear illegal immigrants will compete for their jobs under the new Obama amnesty.
âThis stuff you read about how Hispanics are going to run away from Trump in droves is a Northeastern myth,â said longtime presidential campaign adviser Mark Sanders.
âMost Hispanics here in East Texas are here legally, they vote, and they are hard-line opponents of illegal immigration,â said Mr. Sanders, a top adviser in Democrat Tony Sanchezâs 2002 campaign to unseat then-Gov. Rick Perry. âThe only one they want is Trump â not Hillary, not Bernie. Thatâs the conundrum for Democrats.â
Mr. Sanders says Hispanics in East Texas âcome here from rural backgrounds, from the lower end of the social and economic ladder. Most of their kids go to community colleges because itâs all their families can afford, and then go directly into the military. They have hard-core patriotism â just what Trump plays into,â Mr. Sanders added. Whether Mr. Trump is saying he loves Hispanics or vowing to deport all 11 million or so illegal immigrants, itâs equally music to the ears of many Hispanic voters.

Of course he can, as long as they are assimilated Mexicans who understand what makes this country great.
Mark Levin to go after Obama law license if he IGNORES court injunction on illegal amnesty program
I watched Karl Rove on O’Reilly tonight and he’s up to something. Don’t know what but he was hinting that one of these single-digit candidates might surprise everyone.
Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get me. :-)
I think Dem/GOPe are in for a big suprise. “racist” Trump will get more blacks and hispanic to vote for him the “non-racist” race baiting Democrats/GOPe
The article is difficult to read with all of the ads but it is worth it.
I have hispanic friends who are sick and tired of what destruction the ILLEGALS are causing this country....taking jobs, abusing welfare programs, education system, healthcare, etc, etc.
They are voting for Trump, btw!!
I’ve only said this exact thing for twenty years.
Yes he could, couldn’t he? The LSM has buried him too many times already.

His focus on jobs will attract attention from demographics that traditionally belong to Dems. Including the construction trade unions.
People who are looking for work can see what is happening, and what was once an economics issue has become a jobs issue, and what was once just a jobs issue has become a national sovereignty issue as you see 40 million people out of work and 40 million illegal aliens and no will to secure the border on the part of anyone in Washington. Including most of the people on the GOP debate stage.
Thats why its going to be Trump, and its going to be big.
No worries! Tokyo Rove is a has-been who has no more influence of any importance.
Finally, someone verbalizes what I have been thinking since Trump has been on the scene. Trump will get a significant portion of the Hispanic vote of the legal Hispanics. that will happen because these people do not want to be displaced and threatened by all the illegal Hispanics.
Not only that but there is a criminal element that preys on Hispanics and that is very, very frightening. This is why Trump will get a significant portion of the Hispanic vote probably in the 30-50% range.
Most Hispanics are like everyone else. They want to prosper. They want their kids to prosper and they do not want to lose it all to illegal immigration.
No doubt.
Hard working legal Hispanics are not going to roll over and let
illegals undercut them and their good jobs.

He is just shilling for Bush, as always.
Isn’t there a way to allow EBates to be ignored?
The first time I went to Ebates after installing AdBlock there was a warning that Ebates could be blocked and an option for ignoring AdBlock.
I selected the option. But after a couple of purchases through Ebates I noticed the purchases weren’t listed in my Ebates account so I uninstalled AdBlock.
The money we get from Ebates is worth viewing a few ads on other web sites.
If Trump can pull in 37-40% of the Hispanic vote it will hurt the demoncRATS because he also will pull in 10-20% o the black vote.
This has always been true. I can’t understand why it’s only getting any traction now?
