Ohio voters have rejected a ballot measure seeking to legalize recreational and medical marijuana use in the state.
Failure of the proposed constitutional amendment follows an expensive campaign, a legal fight over its ballot wording and an investigation into the proposal's petition signatures.
Regarding the 52%, it is evident that they were opposed to monopolies being enshrined in our constitution. It’s not really necessary to show anything other than that. Those numbers would have also defeated the pot issue #3.
Yes, a victory for public safety, meaning he believes pot is as dangerous as me and Kasich do.
Have we stopped all rape, murder and robbery?
No? Didn’t think so. So do you advocate ending the laws banning rape, murder and robbery since they haven’t worked to eradicate those offenses after centuries of trying?
An argument that you have failed to even try to counter in any way.
It's an absolutely relevant comparison. The fact that a law has not been able to stop all instances of that crime from being committed is NOT automatically a reason to repeal that law. Yet that is the fallacy the pro-drug-legalizers repeat constantly.
Exactly and issue #2, I believe, banned monopolies set aside by ballot issues, so the folks I spoke to all said ‘Perhaps, but not as a monopoly.’ Same here.
I know you’re a good poster and I’m not trying to set you up
I’m southern baptist
Moderate alcohol use is tolerated
I don’t drink either
Ive always preferred girls or my wife now of course over drink or other drugs too
Is your tee totaling religious or just self discipline or just maybe growing up and seeing the bad up close?
I confess I’ve had two folks very close to me have serious drinking issues and it was so destructive to everyone
It’s so selfish
I truly detest drunks
And Coke heads
Disease my ass
It’s a mind warp is what it is
I like the taste of good red wine and lager and Cointreau
I actually had a shot of Cointreau in Aspen on Halloween
My son recorded it to send his mom
A once in a decade thing
straw man argument. only the weak resort to straw man arguments.
“An argument that you have failed to even try to counter in any way.”
There is no counter to disordered reasoning.
Prohibition fails every time. The “war on drugs” is failure incarnate. Take care.
The case for banning alcohol is just not realistic given its pervasiveness in all aspects of the culture
So, because it is socially acceptable, we can't ban it. Oh, gotcha. Hypocrisy in your arguments much?
Not what I said at all. I know what’s practical and what isn’t. It would be like the libs wanting to ban guns and collect the 300 million that are out there. It’s not possible. You also edited out the other points I made about alcohol being used safely in moderation.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Verbatim quote. Exactly what you said.
Prohibition only creates more violent crime and no argument will ever convince me that you,the government or any other individual has a right to tell me what i can or can’t put in my own body. You’d think the lesson would have been learned with liquor prohibition. People are going to smoke/drink/etc regardless if it’s legal or not..and the results of criminalization lead to the Mafia, the Mexican Cartels etc.
The argument about “society” is typically what totalitarian states use to justify controlling people.
