THey said his entry speeches went over like a lead balloon.....didn’t think they were that bad.....RIP
To: TheBigB
I still have stickers from his campaign.

They really were. I remember Tony well. You’re right! It feels like forever ago!
I just found my Fred ‘08 coffee mug in my garage the other day...lol

He was awesome as a no-nonsense leader in âDie Hard 2â and âFeds.â
Red October too if I recall correctly.
He also did an excellent portrayal of the lead tribunal judge in "Flight of the Intruder". I saw it last week.

Werenât they good times? And we would freep with Tony Snow, remember that? It seems a hundred years ago...Takes me back. Tony Snow 'yelled' at me on FR once. I felt honored.
I was shocked when I heard about Fred Thompson. I've always liked him and his years on Law & Order were some of my favorites.
Rest well, Sen. Thompson. You fought the good fight!

So Sad, GOD bless Jeri and the kids.
How much better off US would be;
if we had gotten Fred and Sarah elected,
instead of running that idiot Rino from AZ and losing to the B.O.
Fred had leadership written all over him and might have been the 2nd most awesome actor become president.

Indeed! Tony could yell at you but it was never bitter or vicious. ..he just stood ..where he stood.
Fred was like that too. He could rip into someone, but because of his character it never seemed ugly. Often it was funny.
I look around now...don’t see any like them.
Or. I’m just getting older.

Maybe you could wait till the man’s body is cold before ripping him.
You’re living up, or down, to your screen name.

Fred Thompson lived an amazing life being involved in the Senate Watergate hearings and getting MSM attention for being the chief Republican lawyer on the Sam Ervin led committee with Tennessee Republican Establishment icon Howard Baker as the ranking GOP member.
That opened the door to an acting career for Fred.
Thompson’s work for GOPe leaders like Howard Baker and Lamar Alexander opened the door for his political career as a US Senator and spoiler presidential candidate in 2008 to help John McCain win the nomination.
God Bless those who were close to Fred Thompson and who are grieving for his loss.

Met him when he was a Senator. He was a true gentleman. Also volunteered on his presidential campaign.
I will miss him.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
And may perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful
departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I knew him and had my picture taken with him (years ago). Great man. Really admired him in spite of his faults. Now I can post it and he won't be able to tell anyone who I was.
