This was a great week for those of us who consider the corporate media to be underinformed, partisan, and overly impressed with their own power to shape political affairs. This week CNBCs wretched conduct of the Republican debate hurt the pocketbook of their parent company, Comcast, and gave the entire media a long-deserved black eye while upping the audiences regard for intended victims. If Watergate was the high water mark of the public esteem of journalists, the debate was its Waterloo.
Like me, you have to admit that you never expected to hear Carl Bernstein admit the right was correct about the partisan bias of the mainstream press. But that is exactly what happened as a result of the CNBC debacle of a GOP debate:
Journalist and author Carl Bernstein slammed CNBC asreally reprehensible, and argued Republicans are âright about the mainstream mediaâ on Wednesdays âCNN Tonight.â
Bernstein said, More than anything, MSNBC was -- Im sorry, CNBC was really reprehensible, but we got a real look at the Republican Party, for the first time, and their anti-government message is really picking up steam, and the Democrats got to pay attention to it. And they are right about the mainstream media. We in the mainstream media need to read the right-wing press more, looking online, I look at it. Because it is a very different universe than we talk about, and there are a lot of people out there that adhere to it
My Facebook friend Harry Stein described the event:
I've been thinking (way too much) about John Harwood. Have we ever seen a more perfect embodiment of the indestructibly self important elitist journalist? Watching him in action last night, repeatedly using his purported questions to parade his contempt for conservatives and all we believe,...

‘’At long last, have you no shame?’’
Was this the McCarthy moment for our corrupt media?
Even in his condemnation of the media bias, he perpetuates the myth that Repubs and likewise conservatives are "anti-government". Nothing could be further than the truth.
That reveals the core of the problem with the Left media. It is never an honest debate about the issues. Like the moderators of that thing call a debate, it is a smear.
Even like in the parable of the Scorpion and the Hare, it’s in their nature and they have no impulse control to overcome being nasty vipers.
Yep, Bernstein just can’t help himself.
No, they have no shame.
More to the point, these Leftists have no idea they’re Leftists, sort of like a stinky ass person has become Nose-Blind to their own ass stink...
How sad that Watergate can be considered the high water mark of public esteem of journalists. As a result of the 1972 election, Nixon won 49 states. If the Watergate break-in had not happened, Nixon would have won,.... 49 states. Because George McGovern was a left-wing lunatic fringe moonbat.
And Woodward and Bernstein lived off those headlines for a long time. In the meantime, Lyndon Johnson (the son of Satan) pulled off the Gulf of Tonkin mess into Vietnam, and condemned black people in this country into a half-century of unmarried mothers, children who don't know their father, and a large number of people who have no purpose or value in life.
Congratulations, journalism! Long may you burn in hell!!!!
If you are interviewing someone the rules are different, but this wasn't an interview.

Joe Trippe on Media Buzz said (tried to say) the same thing. And Trippe is NOT a conservative, a Republican or anything close.. but he does have have a streak of fairness in his personality... The contempt the MSM feels toward traditional Americans is sick...it's hatred.

I agree it’s a hatred and some of the enemedia are to the point they don’t even try to mask it.
Is this great or what?
“Dear NBC:
CNBC’s debate on Wednesday was the last straw. You are dead to me and the Republican candidates. Forget February, and next fall, too.
Donnie
Conservatives are tired of being treated like second-class citizens in their own country.
I would also not do “Meet The Press.”
There is a conceit in the press that they need “us” more than we need them.
We shall see.
(Surber thinks the refusal to allow further debates on NBC or CNBC will cost the network and its owner, Comcast, millions. I think heâs right. Let Chuck interview the Kardashians every Sunday. Turn his show into a male version of the floundering dumb Medusas (”The View”).”)
I am anti-government and for good reason. The federal government has destroyed the urban family, divided the country into interest groups and broken the bank while doing it.
I’m sure that someone here on FR can produce a list of CNBC debate sponsors who paid millions etc. Time to fight fire with fire? The left, the gay lobby and the ‘war on women’ women (?) use boycotts to great effect. See Target et al. What say you all?
This whole thing will be forgotten in a week, and libs will still claiming there is no media bias. I know one Know-it-all leftie who claims the media is all right-wing biased because they are owned by big businessmen. That’s how stupid and dishonest leftists are
No doubt about it, the vast majority of libs would not admit media bias if their lives depended on it.
The same is true in our public schools and in nearly every public and private university.
The same is now true in entire government agencies such as the EPA, the IRS and HHS.
Honest debate is no longer possible. Political correctness is meant to eliminate debate by making certain points of view forbidden (or better: "verboten").
The CNBC debate committed the most unforgiveable error on the part of the progressives: It revealed how the game is played and who makes the rules. CNBC showed the world how the progressive narrative is built and maintained.
