One of the wealthiest and most influential Republican donors in the country is throwing his support to Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a decision that could swing millions of dollars in contributions behind Mr. Rubio.
The decision by the donor, Paul Singer, a billionaire New York investor, is a signal victory for Mr. Rubio in his battle with his rival Jeb Bush for the affections of major Republican patrons and the partyâs business wing.
It comes as a major blow to Mr. Bush, who is seeing his once vigorous campaign imperiled by doubts among supporters, and whose early dominance of the race was driven by his financial muscle.

“You donât think that Newt Gingrich was a strong Conservative? Santorum?”
Gingrich had no money, neither did Santorum. Santorum also never had nearly the following that Cruz has.
Both Cruz and Trump are much better off.
And the VP has a role in impeachment. Ask Billy Jeff.
The Constitution is the final word on President of the Senate.

See there’s the problem again - status quo. Illustrated by the pathetic comments about Cruz disturbing the “decorum” of the senate by calling McConnell what he was - a liar. And Boner talking about respecting the “institution” of the position of Speaker of the House. Completely ignoring representing the people that elected you.
The current Status quo has become a fatal flaw and as such needs to be utterly destroyed. Cruz would do just that.
I think there are many persons like me who now believe that Carson by taking up with Al Sharpton needs to be looked at with a jaundiced political eye. Trump’s give them brimstone and fire is much more needed than Carson’s just change the format so there can be more dialogue.
“Like 2012, the more Conservative guys, Trump, Carson and Cruz, will divide the Conservative votes and Rubio waltzes to the nomination. Deja’ vu all over again.”
Sorry but you are wrong.
Senior Amnesty can’t find enough money to make the scarlet A for AMNESTY on his forehead go away. Trump will destroy him for selling his soul to Singer.
So, what are you saying? Is Trump going to be able to stand there and say what he wants to do, and be any more effective in convincing the GOPe and the dems to do it than Cruz? Do you think if Trump wins, all of a sudden the GOPe is just going to knuckle under?
I agree with that...Or I may vote for Hillary just so I can be on the winning team for a change...
No, she won because the stupid party voted to put Romney in...
And it's far worse/better this time around...An insider Republican doesn't stand a chance of winning...People ought to consider that when they cast their primary vote...
I think he also nuked Kasich with just a couple of sentences in that last debate...I'll be surprised to see him back...
Well hey, come back again, when you can't stay so long...
Santorum also never had nearly the following that Cruz has.
So what you are saying is that Cruz is going to win at least 11 states and 245 delegates and come close to winning the nomination? I doubt it.
Fat chance Mr. Amnesty Marco, Jeb’s good friend, waltzes anywhere.
“So what you are saying is that Cruz is going to win at least 11 states and 245 delegates and come close to winning the nomination? I doubt it.”
Depends who’s left. Cruz will beat Rubio, if they’re the last two standing...so Cruz will easily win 11 states. But I do think Trump will simply walk away with it.
