A militant group affiliated to Islamic State in Egypt claimed responsibility for the downing of a Russian passenger plane that crashed in Egypt's Sinai peninsula on Saturday, the group said in a statement circulated by supporters on Twitter.
SNIP....
"The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders. They were all killed, thanks be to God," the statement circulated on Twitter said.

One would assume it would be 20,000 from the height. But that would show up on radar. Not to say that could not be suppressed.
But I like the way you think.
One does not just put one of those SAMs on the back of a Toyota and drive across North Africa, into Egypt and across the Suez into Sinai.
There are people on the lookout for this stuff.
Debka was right.
ISIS just signed their death warrant. Go Get ‘Em, Vlad.
Certainly makes sense, and you gotta wonder if Russia’s economy is as bad as we hear just how good the maintenance on these planes is as well.
PLEASE let this have Hillaryâs! fingerprints all over it; let these deaths NOT be in vain!
She must be somewhere right now doing her fear cackle.
According to reports after the war that is pretty much exactly what they did, plus a few hidden compartments in various smuggling ships and dhows. Cash is king in that neighborhood, bribes are a way of life, and there was lots of both floating around after the fall of Saddam and Qaddafi.
You, me and the Russian transport minister.
Unless, of course they had an agent working as a baggage handler at Sharm le Sheik and got a bomb aboard -- a better translation of the claim leaves ambiguous how it was brought down.
Allah did it.
Libya has S75, S125, and S200 SAM systems. It is not a stretch at all to think the MB, ISIS, or whatever you want to call the terrorist flavor of the day, has acquired one or more of these and figured out where the on/off button is.
Sheet yea!
Three Russian Aircraft Crash in Past Week, Two Fleets Grounded by Mike Hoffman on June 11, 2015
Russia's military aircraft are now crashing from overuse - July 14, 2015
Consider this.
The aircraft may have had engine problems/mechanical problems, and descended for an emergency landing, and been shot by a missile from Egypt/Sinai who perceived it as a sneak attack.
(just trying to consider all possibilities)
“...that said, since they claim responsibility make them pay, BIG TIME!!!”
I totally agree. It really doesn’t matter what actually happened. If these islamic pigs want to claim responsibility, let them suffer the consequence. I doubt the Russians will need innumerable committees and meetings to decide what to do, nor will they have to appeal the the UN and wait months for their OK. I would like to see the Russians rip and tear, and let allah sort them out when they arrive in front of him in hell.
