We All Have Our Choice We all as conservatives made up our mind who we want for our nominee/president. That's why I stay here, year after year. I hear your input of why and sometimes put mine out there. Ultimately We ALL Want the Same Person. Conservative, with family values, honor and less government control over our lives. Simply just give US our Country Back. I fly my own flag on my house year round. I'm proud to be an American but I'm not proud of the people that I call slackers allow a two term Obama. I want US to Unite for Once for another STRONG leader but more importantly at this time in our lives and those we love for our future. Go Strong and out of the box. Support Someone who can get us back the America we love. STRONG BRAVE and Above ALL UNAFRAID. We are moving Against what we've always done, accept the GOP top choice. Stand Up and Vote against establishment We need a man like Trump. Every time I hear him speak, it resonates how much we need a Bruiser to fight off the old GOP/Dems!
Whoops, nevermind.
He told Trump to tone it down.
If we don't invest ourselves in what we say we believe in, then we really only believe that others should make the decisions for us - that's not a conservative outlook, it's support for a Nanny State.....
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
“You forgot to mention how we can make our luck better by actually investing ourselves in the desired outcome. Do you donate anything to the Trump campaign? How about to FR?”
I always invest my time and dollars into what I believe in other wise I would be just wasting my time. I don’t believe in sitting back waiting for something or someone to do it for me.I assume most people here are of like minded. I just prefer to not lecture others.
My sentiments too. Trump now, because we need his strength and ability to gather I and D votes, with Cruz as VP. This sets Cruz us as president after 8 years.
Good for you - I expect I won't see any complaints about the welfare leeches and those who think we should support them in comfort...
Couldn’t agree more!
“I believe heâd be good for the economy and so-so on immigration”
Trump is so-so on immigration, but you like Cruz? Are you for amnesty then?
Cruz refuses to say if heâs for amnesty or not. Not a good sign, IMO. He says heâll deal with border security first - then âhave the discussion â on what to do with the millions of illegals first. He says Americans donât want to have that discussion until the border is dealt with. BS - conservatives want that discussion! so I donât trust him. Heâs not saying because he has something to hide.
“I used to be a BIG Cruz supporter, but he lost me.”
Same here. He never explained why we need a 500% increase in H1Bs or what he will do with the millions of illegals. His silence on both is deafening. It could be he’s beholden to donors.
Sorry, I just don’t see Trump as that conservative.
Okay, what would be your proposal to lower income tax rates and eliminate the payroll tax, without completely bankrupting the country? There may be better ideas to be had, but at least he is making proposals that would accomplish the main goals of conservatives (lower rates, simplify the tax code, tax consumption rather than labor and investment).
...more H1B visas...
I am really tired of having this misrepresented so often. The only time Cruz proposed increasing H1B's was as an amendment to the Gang of 8 Amnesty bill. His intent was to discourage them from granting amnesty to the illegals here by making it easier for skilled workers to be able to immigrate legally. Once the Gang of 8 bill died (for which he was partially responsible), he has not proposed increasing the H1B's since.
In order to be president, he needs to be VEEP first
And I think in order to be President, Trump should have SOME experience in elective office first.
“How about Trump and Tancredo?”
I adore Tom Tancredo! He was such a patriotic hero when he stood up against amnesty and was told by W not to darken the door of the White House. I wonder if he is burned out on politics though?
“âYou forgot to mention how we can make our luck better by actually investing ourselves in the desired outcome. Do you donate anything to the Trump campaign? “
I probably will now. Early in the game I was so close to contributing to Cruz, that I almost broke my own rule. I don’t contribute until I hear all of a candidate’s positions that are crucial to me. Having skin in the game makes people stick with a candidate, even after some questionable policy choices or votes. I don’t want to bias myself prematurely.
Trump has said everything I want to hear on illegal immigration, H1B visas, taxes, bringing jobs back. (Cruz hasn’t satisfactorily addressed the first two and it’s getting late, so I gather he won’t.)
“The only time Cruz proposed increasing H1B’s was as an amendment to the Gang of 8 Amnesty bill. His intent was to discourage them from granting amnesty to the illegals here by making it easier for skilled workers to be able to immigrate legally. I didn’t know that. I wonder why he didn’t explain that recently. It would be enough for me and many others, most likely. The problem is he hasn’t come out clearly in this, for one with tremendous communication skills.
“And I think in order to be President, Trump should have SOME experience in elective office first.”
Since being elected seems to corrupt so many, I call it a plus. Look at congress and how so many Republicans that ran as conservatives turn around and vote for anything the GOPe wants. That Paul and Cruz were the only 2 filibustering a bill that will increase our debt to $19.5T sickens me.
