CNBC moderator Becky Quick was sure she had Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump trapped at Wednesday nightâs Republican presidential debate.
Instead, as he has done so often, Trump turned the tables, and Quick was the one left flustered.
*snip*
"You have been very critical of Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook who has wanted to increase the number of these H1Bs," Quick said.
"I was not at all critical of him," Trump clarified. "I was not at all. In fact, frankly, he's complaining about the fact that we're losing some of the most talented people. They go to Harvard. They go to Yale. They go to Princeton. They come from another country and they're immediately sent out."

On that narrow issue he was not critical. In any case Trump has won that point since no one cares when the correction (if any) come the next day. They don’t care because they won’t see it.
“I don’t know. You people write this stuff.’
I take it as Trump pointing out Rubio’s bill. But has Trump been personally critical of Zuckerberg? Personally? I haven’t seen it, so please cite links when calling Trump out for lying.
Trump believes people educated here should be able to stay here to work. That makes sense to me. It makes sense to employ those we’ve spent so much to train in our Universities.. He also believes nobody should be able to FIRE Americans and replace them with H1B workers as just recently happened at Disney World. He has always contended Americans should come first.
What you (and Trump) are missing is that the two bolded statements are contradictory. As Trump's own immigration plan points out, we are producing twice as many American STEM graduates as there are entry-level STEM jobs. Given those numbers, we should be focusing on employing American grads, not foreign grads who happened to attend U.S. universities.
Ignore any link to western journalism. The titles are either misleading or just childish.
I think it is written for 15 year olds or by a 15 year old or something like that.

The problem, of course, is that Trump was lying. He has been critical of Zuckerberg (and the rest of Silicon Valley) for his use of (and desire to expand) the H1B program. Itâs right there in his immigration plan:
Davis commenting in this Western Journalism piece puts a Trump spin on this.
But the credit should and will go to Cruz who set the stage for others to follow when he attacked the MSM and with the exception of Jeb Bush, others did. Carly Fiorina’s comments on crony capitalism were spot on. Alas they got buried because of the push for Jeb’s opponent although they were briefly encapsulated by Limbaugh in his show.
I do not see where they are contradictory. I see where you are coming from, but there are far too many who are not even trying to get a job too. Start counting the college grads who want to START AT THE TOP AND ARE UNWILLING TO “PAY THEIR DUES.” GETTING RID of so much welfare support will help the employment numbers in real time and will also push people to study in worthwhile fields instead of so many of the throwaway courses offered just to get a degree....any degree.
Back to the H1B situation. Trump believes Americans should come first but that all the foreign graduates should not be thrown out of the country when they graduate. ILLEGAL and IMMORAL use of H1B is the problem when it is an excuse, like in the Disney situation, to import workers to replace Americans...and even force them to train their replacements as Disney did! Walt and Roy must be turning over in their graves. There is a big difference between people who are here as graduates, and importing thousands to take the place of Americans as in the Disney case. Apples and Oranges.
We get it. You have Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) so bad your hair is on fire.
Conscience of a Conservative has a REAL bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
So, I post a direct quote from Trump’s website, showing exactly what he said and how he lied during the debate. And, instead of refuting what I posted, you instead accuse me of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
In other words, I post facts, you respond with insults.
::yawn::
You have to admit that Trump handed that moderator her lunch. He owned her.
Well, if you ignore that what he said was completely untrue (he has, in fact, been critical of Zuckerberg and H1Bs), then I guess he did shut her down.
Perhaps other candidates should emulate him. Whenever they are asked “what did you mean when you aid X,” they should all respond, “I didn’t say X.” That’s the kind of accountability I want to see from a President. (/sarc)
It’s about time somebody on our side used those tactics.
So, you are pro-lying? OK.
That’s for sure. Trump isn’t perfect, but I think he has the widest range of backers and has the best chance to win.Ideal for me is Trump/Cruz. Nobody is perfect, but i think that would be a winning ticket.
Mark Zuckerbergââ¬â¢s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.>>>
not very critical of z. more of marco.
but the statement in Trump’s plan isn’t critical of zuck. it is critical of marco.
Yes, you did set her straight, but Conscience has probably deliberately chosen such a name for a specific purpose.
She will continue to feign ignorance on the subject, and continue posting the lie.
Keep the pearls of wisdom for those who are hungry for truth, not those who live on les.
You have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I think that pretty much covers it.
Try not to cover your screen with spittle when you respond to me.
Again, you can’t respond to the substance of what I posted, so you resort to insults.
