CNBC moderator Becky Quick was sure she had Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump trapped at Wednesday nightâs Republican presidential debate.
Instead, as he has done so often, Trump turned the tables, and Quick was the one left flustered.
*snip*
"You have been very critical of Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook who has wanted to increase the number of these H1Bs," Quick said.
"I was not at all critical of him," Trump clarified. "I was not at all. In fact, frankly, he's complaining about the fact that we're losing some of the most talented people. They go to Harvard. They go to Yale. They go to Princeton. They come from another country and they're immediately sent out."

So what are the 8 words? Seems quite a bit more than 8 were spoken.
I'm not clicking on it.

That’s what it is - clickbait
I think the author miscounted his key words.
You’re right. I should know better than to click on any thread with the words “BOOM” or “BOMBSHELL” in the title line.
Indeed it was.
I clicked. I listened. There was so much advertising crap running it froze my browser. After it came undone, the voiceover from a running ad drowned out what Trump said.
I had to replay it in order to here his lines.
Here’s the summary:
The Telebimbo accused Trump of attacking Efferburg from Facebook on the immigration issue. Trump said he never attacked Efferburg, that he wants to keep talented workers here. [Editorial Note: Trump, close the damned borders of all immigration, legal and illegal, until Americans who are not working (you know, that 94 million not-in-the-workforce number) are working.]
The Telebimbo then asked then where did she hear that. Trump said he didn’t know...you people write this stuff.
Oh sorry I posted this article again.
Sorry about the mix-up.
(sorry I didn’t actually search for this article)
——âI was not at all critical of him,â-——
if hanging is required, it should be for the phrase “you people”. that slur went unchallenged /s
Hmmm. “You people” were the words that got Ross Perot in trouble with the NAACP.
Was that the place where he said, upon her asking where this info came from ...
"I don't know, you guys write the stuff"
Becky ain’t so Quick after all.
“I was not at all critical of him”—I guess this was the 8 words?
The problem, of course, is that Trump was lying. He has been critical of Zuckerberg (and the rest of Silicon Valley) for his use of (and desire to expand) the H1B program. It’s right there in his immigration plan:
Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program’s lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerbergâs personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.
How about these 8:
“Pay Americans a fair wage you greedy bastard.”
"...and then THIS happened."
“Becky Quick”
I thought that was the new name for Bisquick. Lighter & fluffier, more Millenial-oriented.
;^)
Funny how they forgot about that one. I believe it was the only time all night that one of the mods was right and the candidate was wrong.
