Appreciate the article, but it should be noted there are a lot of fine people in the Pentagon. The problem is: Carter and the Obama administration, his political appointees in OSD, and the National Security Council.
It may appear the whole Pentagon is dysfunctional, but actually that isn't the case....just some pockets, albeit very influential pockets.

The Russians and the Chinese are chuckling up their sleeves as the American forces go all touchy-feely and Esalen; one may hope the Marines will hold the line (as they have done throughout their illustrious history), but the tides of PC are running strong, the Pentagon is full to overflowing with go-along-to-get-along careerists, and there’s a certifiable idiot in the White House.
It’s a political Iwo Jima, and we’re forced to witness yet another horrific battle - this time for sanity.
