“We always made our own costumes when I was a kid”
ditto, but we boys were always pirates, hobos, or ghosts (sheet with two eye holes), and the girls were ballerinas, princesses, or witches (and of course the ubiquitous “ghosts”).
And black cats—a leotard, tutu skirt, leggings, and headband with ears with whiskers on the face. Don’t forget gypsies. I wore that one a lot utilizing my mother’s jewellry.
That’s how it was when I was a kid, too. Now, you have all of this terrifying, bloody stuff. I don’t like it.
Also, you now have adults running around dressed up. So stupid.
