Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy gave Hillary Clinton the option as to whether she wanted to testify in public or in private. She chose public, and it now seems he regrets that decision.
“I can just tell you, in the private interviews, there is never any of what you saw Thursday. It is one hour on the Republican side, one hour on the Democrat side, which is why you’re going to see the next two dozen interviews done privately,” he said.
“The private ones always produce better results.”
Instead of producing results or new information into the investigation in Benghazi, many argue that last week's hearing produced only partisan bickering and entertaining sound bites between Gowdy and Elijah Cummings, one of the Democrats on the panel.
The panel infighting unfortunately overshadowed more important exchanges between Clinton and the committee members. For example, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) revealed an email Clinton wrote to her family after the Benghazi ambush that proved that she knew it was a terror attack. Yet, Jordan reminded her, she told Americans it was the result of a YouTube video. The committee now had proof that the former secretary of state knowingly misled the public. It should have been front page news. Instead, outlets replayed Gowdy vs. Cummings all day.
In short, the committee appeared more intent on fighting one other than getting answers from their witness. Clinton, as a result, left the hearing in one piece.
Gowdy has to be frustrated that a year and half's work has been jeopardized in the past few weeks. He had already been on the defensive in the aftermath of GOP Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's comments that the Benghazi committee had a political agenda.
As for how the committee's most visible witness performed last week, Gowdy said she offered little substance.
“Did she cooperate in answering the question? Yes. Was it an accurate answer? No.”
Gowdy is disgusted. Rubio says he is disgusted. Weren’t these fools aware of the fight ahead of them if they were to take on these LIB/DIM/RINO criminals? If not, they should have resigned immediately. The average Citizen can do nothing...they were elected into these clubs to do something to stop the destruction of our country and our culture. Thanks, you losers.

Say, just how helpful were the Judicial Watch documents they procured for the masses while you sat on your thumbs asking ‘pretty please!?’, ‘dismissing’ witnesses (any of the rescued interviewed? What are their names?) and never filing charges (perjury, obstruction to name a few) that would have We the People in chains in a NY minute.
Our culture has become so degraded by the liberal politics and media, people don;t care anymore about right and wrong. All they care about is that they get their piece of the action. Americans aren’t the same as they used to be when they were God fearing right thinkers and right doers.

There quite a few people who were in Benghazi during the fighting and murders, but I’ve seen nothing of their statements or observations of what happened. OH, and what was going on in Benghazi prior to the attack. I’ve read we were “gun-running” items to Syria at the time. Anyone else hear that?
Hillary took full responsibility for Benghazi, but didn’t know anything about security so appointed an expert, who didn’t provide the necessary security, who was the expert and what kind, if any, people did he hire, American or Lybian? She appointed “experts” in various departments, that way she was responsible for NOTHING.

Hillary evaded answering questions as we waited for pointed follow-up questions that never came. Sickening.

Public is the only way to go. Private hearings are automatically subject to attack for being unfair and secretive. I don’t understand this decision. It would be better to just never schedule anything again and not write any report than to proceed in secret.
Fine, but unless the motive is easily explained and proven to the average voter, it won’t make much difference.

There were almost 30 men there, fighting for 7 hours.
She and Obama are responsible for NOT aiding them.
She left classified papers unattended for at least 3 weeks afterward.
I didn't see a lot of questioning devoted to developing this line of inquiry.
That's treason sir, by legal definition. Nor is either the Hildabeast nor Commander Xero exempt from the charge after 1/21/16.
Sorry but that's pure banana republic stuff. We don't go after previous administrations in court in this country.
If there's a case to be made it needs to be made now.
