BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – Police are responding to calls of a possible shooter in the 4500 block of Utica Ridge in Bettendorf. It appears to have started at the Marine recruiting office located at 710 E. Kimberly Rd. in Davenport around 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.
A witness tells TV-6 that he heard shots fired at a law office next to the Marine recruiting center. He says he heard screaming and then heard the gunman try to reload his gun. A Marine recruiter told everyone to run. As the witness was running, he said he heard more gunfire. Kimberly Rd. was closed, but has since reopened to traffic.
A spokeswoman from Trinity Terrace Park did go on a brief lockdown, but it has been lifted.
Police were then called to the Miller Meier business in Bettendorf. We are still working to gather information, but we do have crews at both scenes.

Whatever is out on Utica Ridge, it doesn't sound like a law office.

This is what it looks like, emphasis looks according to host Jim Fisher. Initial shooting took place in the law office next door. Shooter fled in car to 4500 Utica Ridge where he reportedly committed suicide.
May be some sort of domestic dispute that started in the law office on Kimberly in Davenport; marines not directly involved but were warning people to run.
Funny how they always seem to shoot themselves.
We never get to hear them spout their philosophy in open court.

We had a sheriff’s deputy killed here about a month ago, serving a restraining order at a law office where he met the SOB that killed him.
The deputy was retired, just working part time as a process server......

No one else was injured, and both scenes are safe, Davenport Police Captain Jane Imming told the Quad City Times.
Information will gradually trickle in. At least it doesn't sound like a mass shooting but they don't report a lot of things right away. It doesn't sound like a national news item which is a good thing really. Was afraid we might have a copycat of Chattanooga on our hands.

I called my daughter to warn her not to go that way to pick up her son. She didn't. There was a sad situation traffic accident yesterday afternoon. It happened on West Kimberly Road, two guys purportedly drag racing, going west.
A car turned left (east) from the north side of Kimberly (4 lane) from a business. A female passenger in the back seat was killed, no name released yet.
My daughter said that's right where she works, at U-Haul in an old K-Mart building. She worked today but not yesterday. That could have been the business they turned out of.
Whenever something bad happens and you don't know where your family is, mainly if it is a location where they could have been, you worry until you know. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is that way.
