The government has blocked an Islamic group with alleged links to fundamentalism from building Britains biggest mosque, putting a final end to a 16-year battle.

Good for them - expect the streets to erupt in short order.
Speaking of islamists, I am sure I heard Rand Paul say that the “Palistinian” problem should be tackled by, first, more freedom, more food and more money. He was talking with Harris Faulkner. I was stunned at such blindness. Does he even KNOW what islam is?
About time. Of course, they’ll probably burn London down.
They don’t allow private citizens to store arms and munitions, so why should they allow Islamists to do the same?
Racists
I’m not seeing much to celebrate here. If that “biggest” mosque is not going to be built, then some other current mosque is the biggest.
If a pack of hungry hyenas is chasing me, and the biggest hyena suddenly turns away, I’m guessing I’m still in trouble.
One wonders where they are getting the money for it.
If the muzzies run riot, a lot of hidden guns will emerge from backyard graves.
If some Brits have enough spine to block this mega mosque, then 10,000’s more are ready to point shotguns and start cutting muzzie flesh.
it took 16 fukkin years?? really?
Wrong.
Signed, a UK private citizen and gun owner.
Are you allowed to carry that gun to the grocery store?
Sorry if I misspelled the crime, but since it is a concept based in Scottish law, then I'm guessing you know what I mean.
No, unless I apply for CC, which is rare in the UK, we own guns for sport primarily rather than self defence. But I was responding to a misstatement about the UK allowing personal possession of ammo and weapons. There is a myth in the US that the UK gun owners have to keep their guns in some local club or a storage unit outside the hime, NOT TRUE. My gun cabinet is feet away from me as I type this.
No, I wouldn’t as long as the shooting was justified. If I chased him for a mile and gunned him down, then no. And if I shoot, he isn’t getting up anyway lol.
Its a myth UK people cant defend themselves, family or property. I know from personal experience (2008) its a myth, as I defended my home from a burglar. Its legal (as happened in 2012 in Manchester) to kill an attacker/burglar if within acceptable limits of self defence.
Then why do so many of us on this side of the pond read stories in the Brit press about homeowners charged when they off a perp?
Very, very few (two to my memory in the last 15 yrs), and both were deemed to have grossly exceeded legitimate self-defence.
What Americans read perhaps is that UK people in such incidents get arrested, which seems backward and unfair, but its police procedure to ‘arrest’ everyone involved for a few hrs until the facts are ascertained, what US media ignores is that the homeowners are released within hrs, after their proof of self defence is established.
As we say on this side of the pond, it is always better to get tried by 12 than carried by 6.
