Deputies estimate that they've seized between 7,000 and 10,000 stolen guns from a house and warehouse near Pageland. Deputies have arrested Brent Nicholson in connection to the stolen goods.
Chesterfield County Sheriff Jay Brooks says the seized guns, ammunition, and hundreds of other items were all found on a single property off of Highway 9 outside of Pageland city limits.
Brooks says the guns alone filled one tractor trailer and ammunition filled another.
Nicholson was arrested and charged with trafficking opium and heroin, earlier in the week in Union County. Deputies reportedly went to serve him with a subpoena Friday and noticed what appeared to be stolen goods in his front yard.

Actually, if he was buying up all these stolen weapons, he was doing a community service keeping them off the streets.
Was this more or less than the number of weapons the feds put into circulation with Fast and Furious?
So we all know the police will bend over backwards to return all the stolen property to the rightful owners....
Since with out a report of being stolen there is no way to prove that it is stolen merchandise.
Pageland? Wow.
Which is why you should always keep a list of the serial numbers of all your guns.
“When asked what Nicholson was doing with so many guns, Brooks said, “(he) looks like a gun hoarder to be honest with you.” Deputies have found no evidence that he ever sold any of the guns.
“You know he just had 7,000 guns,” Brooks said. “99.9 percent are hunting rifles and shot guns.””
Pageland, SC is at the NC border. I didn’t see the report that this was in NC, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find that NC was involved. Maybe the property crossed the state line. Or maybe someone was just mistaken. I don’t know how well the state line is marked in that area, especially on the back roads.
Isn’t the boundary usually painted like on the maps? :>}
Sounds like a prolific collector, not a gun runner. Except the guns were stolen, and he was dealing drugs.
Yeah, my map uses a dashed line. So I’m thinking, if the road you’re on passes between the dashes, you might not realize you’re in another state. ;
Meanwhile, I’ve since read the article. The investigation crossed state lines.
“Pageland? Wow.”
Well known for its peaches.
Oh, the horrible inhumanity of it all. After all, this poor, misguided soul is nothing but a “nonviolent” felon and should be immediately released. Then all the cops involved must be prosecuted for violating his constitutional rights. Oops, he’s white. Cancel all that.
The guy was obviously dredging lakes and rivers at the scenes of all of those unfortunate boating accidents.
From the comments, and it makes sense;
“The guy’s a fence. That gun stash was probably his retirement nest egg. Drug dealers don’t do bank accounts, so this guy came up with a novel way to turn his cash or debts collected into hard assets.”
You’re right. That makes perfect sense. The poor guy.
When I saw the pi of the guy all I could think was that michael Moore looks like crap without his makeup.
7,000 guns, eh? Sounds like a reasonable start to a collection...
