My thought is that if they do not yet, or never did, have evidence of a crime or reasonable suspicion of one (specifically)...why are they even doing this?

The email issue arose from a FOIA request from Judicial Watch as I recall.

I don't know that any (And I could be wrong) criminal information has been uncovered by this committee.

As for the legitimate role of oversight, I think they accomplished that long ago when they discovered Clinton was negligent on security requests, and she lied about the Video.

If Hillary is dislodged in October 2015, by finding criminal wrong doings, what happen next?

Move # 1 : Biden jumps in.

Move # 2 : Biden has no known criminal shenanigans like Hillary. He will bring out every democrat & liberal to the voting booth. He has better chance than Hillary to win in November.

Move # 3 : Gowdy exposes Hillary’s crimes after it is too late for Biden to jump in...let us say after March 1st.

Checkmate! Now it is either...
Trump versus known criminal Hillary -or-
Trump versus Bernie Sanders in November.
