One of the countrys most influential Christian Right leaders says the support Donald Trump enjoys among evangelicals is limited to worshipers of false idols.
Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, is disputing conventional wisdom that Trump is hugely popular with born again Christians, insisting those actually in his camp follow the dangerous false teaching of the prosperity gospel.

dangerous false teaching of the prosperity gospel.
Amazing! I suppose advocating “tolerance” for any and all kinds of evil and the practice thereof to fill pews like most of the “churches” today are doing is something else.
I’m serious. I heartily enjoyed a recent thread started by a FR who lives in deepest darkest California, who reported on a feast conducted by the Marxist nomenklatura he met there.
Not only that, but at least He most undoubtedly was "documented" when His parents took part in the census.
“Childish personal attacks on Russell Moore aside, he is certainly correct to say that Trump is not the favorite among Christian conservatives.”
The only thing that makes Trump different from Russell Moore in a religious sense is that he isn’t a Southern Baptist. If Trump were a professed Southern Baptist; then he’d be viewed as Presidential material by all of them, not to mention Heaven bound, no matter what he did or said.
Nah. This is all about illegal immigration. The Baptist priests have bee corrupted.
Never heard of the guy.
Physician, heal thyself.
I am a born again Christian for 45 years, and I am voting for Trump.
Correct. It is Cruz and Carson. Christians are sheep who listen to their pastor 95% without questioning whether the teacher is actually using scripture IN CONTEXT.
According to the SDA's own website, you are incorrect.

Yep. I was a Baptist for all of my adult life....more than 40 years. I stopped about two years ago. The SBC is the main reason.
Which is ironic, considering that Carson is a Seventh Day Adventist who believes you have to keep the law to be saved, and thus rejects the grace of God through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Are you saying you are for people coming here illegally with no respect for laws from day 1?
Well then, that makes you anti-American. What the hell are you doing here?
Interesting, I deal a lot with SDAs and ex-SDAs but had not heard either of those. Those 2 things are core JW doctrine.
Thanks for the links.
On the topic....it does concern me that the SBC seems to be going squishy on what’s good for our nation.
I go to a Baptist church. Due to some issues with child care for our disabled daughter, we recently changed churches. The one we moved from identified as a Southern Baptist church...but you had to be there to know that. Nothing in the name or outside signage said so. However, I had never heard any of the talking points from the SBC repeated in my old church.
In the new church, I don’t know if they identify as Southern Baptist. Again, in the short time I’ve been there, I haven’t heard anything aligning with the SBC. People don’t seem to discuss politics much at our new church. The preaching I’ve heard has been Gospel-centric and in line with the Bible.
Tomorrow, after service, the pastor is having a welcome lunch for new members where he says he will outline the vision of our church. I’ll be there, and I hope to get a clearer understanding of what my church is all about.
Prosperity Gospel doctrine is a most wicked heresy.
Trump is rockstar amongst southern whites
I’d say that is proof enough Mr Big Britches Southern Baptist Full Of His Self
I say that having been baptized in Calvary Baptist in Jackson MS in 1966
Below is what I posted on a Ted Cruz thread. I’m leaning Cruz; But could easily support Carson, Rubio, Fiorina, Paul (my heart is there but it’s time for him to drop out) and even Trump. ABB.
3 things in politics: Money, People.....and the brains to know what to do with them. Cruz has the first 2. ..Do he and his campaign staff....and us volunteers have the 3rd?
Reagan won with a coalition of a variety of dis-affected conservatives and Republicans. If the Cruz supporters really believe in Cruz, then they should be open to welcoming in to the coalition those who disagree on the issues. If the Cruz supporters require a litmus test (eg immigration) of others, then Cruz will not gain the supporters of those who will drop out in the next 3 months.
An overt repudiation of Romans 8.
Gently
are pro-illegal (like me)

Glad you have come out of the closet.
You value fraudulently documented foreigners above the citizens, the rule of law and the country.
