More than 50,000 migrants arrive in Greece in one week, the highest total of 2015

An influx of refugees and migrants arrive in Greece, desperate to reach Europe before winter sets in.

More migrants and refugees have braved the Mediterranean crossing from Turkey to Greece so far this week than ever before, despite worsening weather conditions, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) announced on Friday.

In the last six days, more than 56,000 people, mostly Syrians, were recorded arriving on Lesbos, Chios and other Greek islands, the highest weekly total of the year.

The figures are raising fears of more drownings in heavy seas and worsening health risks to survivors who arrive cold and wet as temperatures drop.

Meanwhile, the prospect of the flow of refugees heading across southern and eastern Europe in ever greater numbers is worsening European Union arguments about how to manage them.

Pity the poor tourist business.

Who wants to go to a European country that is overrun by Muslims?

No problem. Membership in the EU guarantees harmony and peace.

And they all came demanding free housing, halal food, and medical care.

this is harsh, but I can do nothing about them drowning in the sea, they have no right even coming to Greece, and this is going to be a long lasting disaster for all of Europe...

why are they allowing this?

If the EU doesn’t learn to turn them back, they will go under a human wave of Muslim invaders.

Does it seem odd that muzzies make up most of the refugees in the world?

This isn’t “migration”.

50,000 people in one week is an INVASION.

Migration would be like 1/10 or even 1/100 of that from a country with 20 million people.

“why are they allowing this? “

It is the end result of political correctness. As others have said, political correctness will be the death of us. We in the US are fortunate that our populace will see the results before the problem is critical here. We may, like a body invaded by a bacteria, develop a large enough reaction that we destroy the invader. Or, like the Black Death, it will kill millions before it dies out.

After decades of building a liberal paradise in Europe they can't think of anything fitting to say or feel when an army of young, strong and ruthless warriors pours into their countries.

This will go into history books as one of the easiest conquests ever. The invading army will be fed, housed by the natives, and given money to spend.

Germany is now trying to deport some of the "migrants," but those "migrants" know how to act in hostile environments. Only a handful of them - primarily those who really deserve to stay - will be deported. The rest are dissolving within borderless Europe and joining their communities.

I was there about 3 years ago. You could smell the Somalis before you saw them...standing in a group trying to sell knockoff purses. UGH.

Greece has enough problems without this - that I think was created by Obama and Hillary.

This past summer when Europe was having a financial crisis I wonder if Obama gave Merkel some of that missing State Dept. money in return for her inviting his Muslim brothers to come to Germany? The smell of Obama in this is overwhelming since it worked so good here the last year or so.

The EU will ask the US to come to their aid.

Call me a cynic, but maybe Greece is attempting to get even with Germany over the credit blow up this past summer. Send all the muzzles thru Greece to Germany ... Problem is, if Germany has problems, the rest of Europe has it worse. Only petty, pathetic Greece, who created its own problems, would be short sighted enough to pursue this behavior. Just sayin?

"The EU will ask the US to come to their aid."

Probably by asking the US to take more of the refugees. Obama will leap at the opportunity.
