This magnificent, unknown elephant was taken in a successful, legal, ethical, hunt in Zimbabwe. The bull elephant had never been seen before, and likely would have died with no one knowing of its existence if the hunt had not taken place.
Mystery surrounded the identity of the elephant, which was estimated to have been between 40 and 60 years old, but had never been seen before in Zimbabwes southern Gonarezhou National Park. But its tusks, which touch the ground in a photograph taken moments after its shooting, confirmed its exceptional nature, weighing an estimated 120lb each.
Social Justice Warriors (SJW) are attempting to create a replay of the witch hunt of Dr. Walter Palmer, who successfully hunted a lion in Zimbabwe earlier this year. In the earlier witch hunt against Dr. Palmer, the emphasis was that the lion was known, had a name, was a draw for tourists, was taken illegally, and was not killed cleanly. Some of those contentions are true, some are uncertain or unknown.
What is known about the taking of the elephant is that none of the above apply.
The elephant was not known. It had never been seen before. It was not named. It was not collared. It was not a draw for tourists. It was taken legally, in a fair chase hunt, and killed cleanly and humanely.

Not entirely true. If you can prove it was harvested before the ban, you can still buy/sell it, but there’s a lot of documentation and stuff required.
Since this one obviously wasn't, now what?
Saddens me more than Cecil.
Uhhh, WHY post these pictures on the interwebs so that you can then be attacked by slobbering idiots?
AS long as the meat is put to good use and feeds people who need it how in the world could you possible consider it immoral. There are plenty of examples of people hunting in the bible and it is never condemned. How then could it be "immoral"? Look, if you don't like hunting then don't do it but spare us your self righteous whining.
Trent is no elephant — he’s a RINO.
That is because you are ignorant of what is involved in an elephant hunt.
I highly recommend if you really care you look into a legal hunt and how they are organized and what happens if they don’t hunt them.
The hunter gets nothing but the tail and a worthless mold of the tusks (thats right the locals get the tusks). The locals get all the animal and they use it all nothing is wasted.
If you are only driven by emotions then enjoy your life of misery but don’t push that off on everyone else.
What is so “ethical” about a hunt?
As if that would do anything.
Maybe with Trudeau in she can join a Canadian society to stop the lawful harvest of animals.
Keep in mind, the motives are many, but for the anti-RKBA crowd, stopping lawful hunting will remove what they have been trying to present as the reason for the 2nd Amendment. (We KNOW better, but that is the game they are playing.)
Please don’t be like a liberal, educate yourself on the necessity of control the animal population. No one that pays $50-80,000 to hunt an elephant is trying to exterminate them.
Have you ever seen what an elephant that has disease from over population of an area will do to a village in a wild rage?

And the author of your linked piece is having an absolute hissy-fit about it.
I totally agree. SICK!
The meat from the hunts IS eaten; by hungry people who
depend on hunters for their meat - which they are glad
to get. We all have life spans; elephants included.
Lions included. - Never a sparrow doth fall without the
knowledge of the Creator!
The other evening late, a bird flew into our large back
window. I went out to try to rescue it; which I have
sometimes done over these 30 years. It was flopping
around in the thick leaves on the ground. I couldn’t get
to it without walking through those leaves. We have
rattlesnakes and copperheads out here. God gave me
enough sense not to clomp through piles of leaves this
time of year before snakes go into hibernation. - Both
our dog and our cat nosed around for the bird. It was
alert & I think it flew away - I hope it did anyway.
If it didn’t, Brutus the cat got a dinner thanks to
the Lord. If it did make it; good for it!
Husband is bringing home Subway sandwiches for supper
tonight. We all gotta eat! Twinkie eats meat!!
“I dont care what anyone says, but hunting down and killing these magnificent Gods creations FOR FUN ( and SPORT?!!! LOL!) is sick, deranged, and immoral beyond words.”
It’s just like deer . The area can only really sustain so many . When herds get to big for an area they begin to starve and disease sets in. Controlled hunting is good for reserves as is controlled felling of trees and removing debris.
Hunts like this big needed funds to an area too .
The hide will make a lot of Tony Llamas.
Interesting link, thanks. :)
It takes a real man to blow away a magnificent creature with a high-powered rifle from several hundred yards with his guide no doubt ready to shoot if he screwed the shot. This pathetic little man is probably overcompensating for a small penis.
You are good!
