2miles away from my old neighborhood the mickey d’s was on a major traffic route. when it was renovated it was all african american art on the walls & decor to match. it was a slap in the face to all the other races of people who patronized it.
Was that around the same time they changed their jingle from “food, folks, and fun” to “bop bop a loo bop, I be lovin it!” or whatever?
You are correct.
I can understand their wanting to signal Black customers that they are welcome, but in the process they appear to have alienated everybody else.
McDonalds’ corporate has all but explicitly stated that they now chase the black purchasing dollar at the expense of the white purchasing dollar.
By omitting me I now omit them, and hope they go extinct.
You should see the one in Selma Alabama.
In late 2007 I had to stop there on the way to south LA where my mom was dying. They had three times the amount of ‘workers’ behind the counter of most every other McD’s. And nearly every single one was wearing a “Jug Ears for Prez” button. The food I was served gave me some of the worst (temporary) stomach problems I can remember.
I haven’t eaten at a McD’s since.
Just like everything else in America.
It caters to certain segments, just like many are doing now.
I guess they forgot the other areas of the country.
