When it comes to economics, the Nazis were about as close to what Obama is doing today as any political party. Keep the means of production in private hands nominally, but have the government tell industry exactly what to do.
That also falls in line with the definition of the word:
Definition of socialism
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. policy or practice based on the political and economic theory of socialism.
(in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of Communism.

The Nazis were not only Socialists, they were the extreme Left among Socialists, only a shade to the right of the actual Communists.
For sixteen absolutely clear demonstrations of just how far Left they were, see The Lies Of Socialism.
For more on just how closely Obama has aped Hitler's tactics, see Leftwing Chickens Coming Home.
Yes. I'm about half-way through "The Vampire Economy" book by Guenter Reiman. It's a long read, but very interesting. The Nazis did everything they could to destroy Capitalism without actually taking over the companies. So much so, that entire staffs had to be created, and people sold their services as fixers between the government bureaucracy and the company. Often at premiums.
