Remember Carly Fiorina? It now seems forever ago, but in late September she was being heralded as the next big thing in the Republican primary field—the outsider candidate who could marshall establishment support, and finally slay the Trump dragon.
Now look at the polls. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll Monday has her at 7 percent, running behind the much-maligned Jeb Bush. That’s down from 11 in late September. A CNN poll released Tuesday is even bleaker. She comes in fourth—tied with also-ran Chris Christie and behind Rand Paul, who’s on campaign deathwatch. That’s even worse than it seems, because in mid-September she was at 15 percent in the same poll, good for second place.

Technically she is a Washington outsider, which I think is part of her appeal, but I think people are starting to sense that there’s nothing she would love more than being fully embraced by the Washington insiders.
Conservatives took a look and they did not like what they saw. I think that many have had enough of the republicans who have an antipathy for the constitution.
Her “surge” was a purely media concoction.
It was all hype. Nothing happened. At all. Before or after.

She was only propped up to take out Trump. Her mission failed, do the RNC had no use for her.
If Cara had a record of success to run on, things would be different.
Simply being of a particular gender doesn’t cut it with today’s electorate. This time is different.

Technically she lives a few miles outside the Beltway. Her office is probably inside the Beltway, though.
She was and is a full on Washington insider, not just with the RNC but in the Clinton orbit as well.

Sure she’s a good debator and fast on her feet, always good for a quip, a sound bite and the turn of phrase.
But she’s also a home wrecker, a corporate wrecker, and a defeated US Senate candidate who now lives in the DC Beltway.

What happened to Carly? She got the exposure she wanted only people didn’t like what they saw.

And the only reason she was ever in the race in the first place was to siphon votes from Palin or Bachman if they’d run or any other actual conservative woman candidate.
