I was referring to the severance contract obligations - the requirement to work for free.
“Ok, I know how to fix your problem, ok, go to your command line and type this in:
rm -rf /
That’ll fix ‘er right up.”
I read a story a few months ago where an IT firm hired a bunch of H1Bs from India, worked them over 299 hours a seek and was paying them $1.29 an hour.
There is not enough bad karma in the universe that could be visited upon this wretched excuse of a former employer for all the evil they have done. Still, I hope the universe gives it a go.
100 hours a week (doh)
For a start, the unconstitutional expectation of free labor.
The command you need is fo are-mat. Sure I'll spell it. F-O-R-M-A-T.
Do the Worm...
I’m not a lawyer.
It does however, strike me as being beyond reasonable.
Just my opinion.
There are places in the US that can be legitimately shown to not house the exact talents and abilities companies need to expand their operations. That means hiring these key people will enable potentially hundreds more Americans to be hired in other positions.
Cruz COMPLETELY stands behind his prior bill, and would like it to come back in the not too distant future.
From Cruz's own website:

Do you really believe Ted is lying about this, when he continues to host it - joke-free - on his government website? Read it through and tell us all he his only joking about a 500% increase in H1-Bs.
Slavery ended a long time ago. I weould tell them I’m very busy watching paint dry.
Then I have Trump left to vote for or i’ll get to stay home on a cool November day.
96% to Republicans.
then @#$@#$ him, like i said to the other post.
dont understand FReepers getting off on calling other FReepers pathetic and other names.
which is why republicans usually lose or are in-cohesive.
see it too much on this board.
anyway, if it’s true, i vote Trump or stay home in November
The requirement for future services in this sort of agreement is to clearly establish that the payments are earned income. The company would be nuts to expect a former employee to return without a whole new compensation package (almost as nuts as expecting to be able to offshore IT work without suffering adverse consequences).
So the only thing that “severance” means these days is that you’re being bribed to do something against your self interest.
As for the consultancy period, isn’t that bordering on classification issues if they’re not employees, yet being directed as employees?
Unless there’s 2 years of salary in the severance package, they can stick “on-call” up their....
“Hi, New Boss....if you don’t mind, my old boss insists I’m available at the drop of a hat for 2 years.....”
The sad truth is, the US has been graduating DOUBLE the number of STEM grads as have been able to find jobs:

We gave Ted a fair amount of money, so we have been supporters of him.
Both my wife and I will be voting for Trump now, though. We submitted questions around this to his campaign (and talked with his telemarketers) about this and have received no good answers. In fact, we have had success in enlightening his telemarketers as to this stance and my contact went to the website (with the one I last spoke with) and said this concerned her, as well. (They are probably volunteers who work for free or very little.)
At this point, both seem equally bad in that respect - as guest worker programs have the same issues and incentives.
This is DEVASTATING to me.
There are no heroes anymore.
the last one died in a terrible way some years back :(
