Trump tweets NYT story on Bush failing to heed 9/11 warning
The Hill ^ | October 19, 2015 | Mark Hensch

Donald Trump is not letting Americans forget that the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened under former President George W. Bush.

Trump’s relentless attacks on the issue come as he battles former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.), George W. Bush’s brother, for the GOP’s presidential nomination in 2016.

“Interesting reading re: September 11th,” he tweeted Monday afternoon, referencing a New York Times story titled “The Bush White House was Deaf to 9/11 Warnings.” “Jeb is fighting to defend a catastrophic event,” Trump said of Jeb Bush in a separate post.

“I am fighting to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” he added. "Jeb is too soft – we need tougher & sharper.”

Trump has spoke on this issue for a long time.

"Over A Year Before 9/11, Trump Wrote Of Terror Threat With Remarkable Clarity"

-snip-

“I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers,” wrote Trump in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen.”

Really? Seems more like he’s running against a man who isn’t in the race, just like Obama did twice.

I like him, but he doesn’t cross over. I do not think he would win at the top of the ticket. He’s been frozen by the Alinsky crowd.

But... he would be damn good as a VP and then could take over when Trump retires.

“who needs an elective office to post a reward for the capture of the planners before the fact??

i mean wheres the Imaginative entrepreneurial spirit THERE???

a few million would have hurt Mr ACTION???”

That would still require the power of elective office with the capability of vast investigative capabilities, verification, and enforcement.

Trump is not known as someone who talks big and does not deliver.

It is truly incredible to see him confront the major issues of our times and declare, “I can fix that.”

One can only wonders if, God willing, he gets the chance, and he finds that he has bitten off more than he expected, how will he respond?

I love Donalds positive can-do attitude. I want him to be successful, because he seems to understand the seriousness of the situation. I just fear that he may be putting himself in a position of over promising and under delivering.

Cruz won in Texas. Not the same as winning in not Texas.

He’s a brilliant man, but he has been cast in a role that will not work in the general.

He is not catching on in the polls because his support is not that broad. I think he is running interference for Donald in some way, but I haven’t figured out how yet.

Interesting:

“Sandra Al-Gudady highlighted the role of women in business in the UAE and the strong role models in the region such as Queen Rania of Jordan. She also questioned the western perception of “the veil” as a sign of subordination and called for a more open minded approach. She argued that at times the West even causes harm with its approach to the issue and stressed that whilst the role of women in the West and Middle East are culturally different, Arab women are still at the forefront of public life and emphasised the vital role they play as mothers of future generations.”

How about just acknowledging the truth, without issue as to whether the Democrats have said it previously?

I also love his attitude and I am a firm supporter. Being realistic though, I expect he could fix the problems we have today. By Jan. 2017 however, Obama will have sent this country so far into the sewer it will be a Herculean task to fix.

I am sure Donald Trump is wise enough to realize this and I applaud his courage to take it on. I think the only hope is that Congress start dragging their heels to slow down the destruction and once Trump is in, the full support of the people.

When Dubya came to office 1/21 he sent appointments to the Senate. How many appointments had the Senate voted on by 9/11? How many had they only voted on a short time before 9/11 and the new office holders had only had a couple weeks to get up to speed?

Given the speed of events now is faster than 200 years ago, and given the candidate either knows his nominees 1 week after election day, the nominee should give his list of nominees to the Senate in December and require an up or down vote on all of them by Feb 21.

If the president and senators cannot do this in 2017 speed, then they are not qualified for the position they hold.

We need to change our traditions to keep up with the real world.

Trump has jumped the shark. He will never get my vote and there are a number principled conservatives that have come to that conclusion.

So criticizing George Bush is a deal-breaker for “principled conservatives”? Interesting , because W was no conservative
