Vladimir Putin has the United States foreign policy establishment swooning. One columnist admires the decisiveness that has put him in the drivers seat in the Middle East. A veteran diplomat notes gravely, Its the lowest ebb since World War II for U.S. influence and engagement in the region. A sober-minded pundit declares, Not since the end of the Cold War a quarter-century ago has Russia been as assertive or Washington as acquiescent.

Fareed is a traitor, a 5th column terrorist defending his Islamic brethren. Like Trump, I cheer Putin killing anyone that even thinks of supporting ISIS. If only we didn’t have a Muslim in the White House, even if only a sympathizer, we’d be doing the same. Even Bush, Jr. pulled his punches because of his family’s close, long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia.
Well, people forget also that Assad shot down a predator that was being used to target ISIS. So targetting ISIS was not all the time popular for Russia and Assad, especially if the US was doing it. Point is that they are happy about Obama’s incompetence.
Show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do.
Absolutely!
and it’s not as if anybody is really cheering for Russia, we just want to see someone, anyone, kick ISIS’ ass instead of sending it care packages and ammo.
I swoon over cruise missiles launched in ISIS’ general direction.
I think he is right about Eisenhower. Of course, Eisenhower had a real advantage in terms of knowing about the real capacities of military action, having been appointed the Supreme Allied Commander in the middle of WWII. I think he was one of our great presidents.
I would just rather see a bunch of Russkies spending money and getting their butts shot at for a change. Give our guys a break. :-)
Plus every dime Putey spends on this quagmire just drains his bank account more. Let him go bankrupt. Love it.
Cheering for Soviets in Stalingrad was not cheering for Stalin personally.
That, too. Besides, Russia cannot possibly make the Middle East more of a mess than we have.
So the Syrian military shot down an aircraft flying over their territory without permission, owned by a country whose official position is to overthrow their government? Shocking!
Russia is the only country legally flying over Syria, aside from Syria of course.
The fact of the matter is simply this, Putin Loves his Country as much as Obama Hates our Country.
Yeah, just “do it”.
“That, too. Besides, Russia cannot possibly make the Middle East more of a mess than we have.”
That’s the truth.
He’s just trying to appease Obama...Fareed is jealous of Reggie and wants some puddin’ too.
The problem is that Putin is doing in the Mideast what our sorry-arse, spineless, squish of a President ought to be doing: eliminating ISIS and all other Muslim “rebels” and propping up Assad. Trump was right, the U.S. would be far better off today if Hussein and Gaddafi had been left in place to keep the extremists tamped down. Obama want’s to make this worse by taking out Assad.
As a consequence, Putin is looking pretty darn good in the Mideast compared to Obama because Putin’s doing what the U.S. ought to be doing: kicking arse and taking names later.
So the more misfortune a people suffer doing our dirty work, the better you feel. So rather than appreciating what they are doing to the caliphate you gloat in their loss.
You sound sicko to me. Get a life.
Snap out of it Russia is not our friend. Only an ignorant loon believes Russia does anything in our interest. Only their own self interest which is directly opposed to our interests about 95% of the time.
It is in our interest to keep Russia weak. If they weaken themselves better yet.
Are you jealous that they are doing better cleaning up the mess that WE made?
You guys all sound like McCain. The cold war ended 25 years ago, but for programmed haters I guess it may never end.
